I just finished the prologue Island, and really enjoying it so far. Sure, it's unashamedly a Breath of the Wild clone, but that's not a bad thing. At this point, a Ubisoft game that is a copy of another studios thing is still a breath (no pun intended) of fresh air considering most of their games are usually a copy and paste of their own games.

Also I have played so many super gritty, and serious games back to back this year, that the super lighthearted and goofy humour it is going for is really doing it for me. I even chuckled outloud a few times.

Again, only just finished the first area, and maybe I'll get bored/have a different opinion as I go on. But so far, so good.

I just went to watch the Deadly Premonition 2 Quicklook posted earlier today, and noticed its been taken down on the site, and youtube. Did something happen?

Now it's all said and done, I didn't completely hate the podcast section of GOTY, but like others I definitely prefer the old format.

However, the non podcast content left a very bad taste in my mouth when compared to past years. Only 2 group video's is such a shame, as that is the thing the site does so well. I did enjoy the Winter Games at least, but even that was a slight chore at times due to the audio quality.

Also I do understand East had less time in San Francisco this year than normal, but that is really no excuse when they have done plenty of cross coast things before (Quicklooks, Hitman Double Agent/Killing Busey, East vs West Rocket League, etc), so I wish they had at least done something along those lines.

It's is rather fitting my Premium ran out this week, as the disappointing end of year videos helped the choice to not renew for now. (But let's face it, I'll probably sign back up eventually for Mass Alex 3.)

Anyway, sorry this post was overall rather negative, so on a more positive note, Happy New year to all!

Enjoyable read. This game is one of 3 games I was bummed I didn't own a Wii U for. So very happy that it comes out on the Switch in less that a month!

(Bayonetta 2,and The Wonderful 101 were the other 2, so please Nintendo, complete the trifecta and port Wonderful 101!) Edit: I'd also welcome a Switch Port of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Well can't say I'm not disappointed how this is turning out. According to the "upcoming" there are no more videos later today, so it seems that will now be only 1 group thing in 3 days. This is a real bummer to me, as the Holiday Spectacular stuff they did the past 2 years were some of my favourite things they have done, and I was definitely looking forward to more of the same/similar this year.

But it seems like a majority of it is just replaced with these solo videos. Which just give this years stuff a very phoned in vibe. (Though I am sure Vinny, Jan, Abby and Jason put alot of work in production wise, so not at all a knock on that side of things.)

I just keep up hope that maybe the latter half of the week has some of the stuff I am missing.

My head is with Cyberpunk, my heart (because nostalga is a powerful thing) is with RE3 Remake.

Underwhelmed so far, but if we get Hitsmas 2019, all will be forgiven!
