The Jordan Myles t-shirt situation has led me to appreciate this thread and how the people on it discuss wrestling. God there are a lot of depressing reactions out there.
As much as I never thought I would say this, I miss the days when people legitimately believed that "Game was bad" was not only a contender for hottest mess but the winner.
The movie sucks. It isn’t clever, it isn’t stylish, it isn’t exciting, it isn’t funny. It looks cheap, it wastes your time with too many pointless, uninteresting characters saying far too little for far too long. Don’t waste your time.
A quite amazing perform wrapped around a deeply (though not critically) flawed movie. For all the hubub surround it prior to release this movie has very little to say and doesn't really deliver anything that you couldn't find better done in the movies it is not-so-subtly cribbing from. It is a sloppy mess but not a contemptible one.
The actual Joker infection thing made precisely zero sense, so I was on board with whatever the dumb solution would end up being. In the end it was thematically and narratively satisfying which meant a lot more than the mechanics of how the infection worked or how to beat it.
If this movie is tapping into something real and present in the current American cultural psyche, you should probably be more concerned about the existence of these problems and not so much the existence of this movie.
