Terminator: Placeholder Subtitle better have moment where Ryan Reynolds complains about the timelines being so confusing or they missed their only opportunity to do something decent with this seq-boot.
I'm deep in the "why not both?" camp. All for continuing the RE7 timeline in First person and the occasional REMake of old Resident Evil games, if they are going to do some fundamental changes like the did with RE2.
@whitegreyblack: Except that was the exact opposite of what Terminator 2 was about with the underlying theme of "No fate but what you make." and the whole notion that a Terminator can learn the value of life so maybe humanity is destined to destroy itself. So, it wasn't so much solidifying an idea as performing an inelegant backflip that ended up faceplanting into the skull-covered ground.
So, yeah, on paper having a third film that goes back to the idea of judgement day is inevitable could be okay but it depends on whatever that film is being a superior experience to T2. Which it isn't and it would have been tall order for just about anyone. Even then it couldn't involve time travel or Arnie since that premise was stretched to breaking point as it was. It would have to be something involving the idea that timelines just kinda fill in the blanks to get whatever is going to happen anyway.
I'm legit confused that fans of the F&F franchise have drawn the line on stupidity at Statham being hastily forgiven for killing one of the crew. I mean, F&F fandom is in and of itself fairly baffling to me because it was a series that only got entertaining in the last 1/4 of its cinematic existence and a large part of that is to newer, better arrivals to the franchise.
So, yeah, not only will I be seeing Hobbs and Shaw, it will be the first F&F movie that I actually pay to see. Come at me with some half-brained, up its own butt monologue about family, Vin.
Season 3 is easily the weakest season. It drops the ball on a few important characters and has some misfiring attempts at comedy by way of "isn't it weird they are talking about this while crazy shit is happening?". The only time it works is with the Neverending Story moment. The show ends so well though that it is almost easy to forget how much I didn't like big parts of it.
It is well past time that we admit that The Terminator franchise could only support two movies. One great movie and a sequel that juuuuust gets away with its loose premise because it was so well executed. Every Terminator movie that has followed T2 has been absolute trash. Stop doing this. Don't get hyped for something that is far more likely to let you down than not. Come on.
@standby2standby: Knowing who is making Picard? No. No I'm not surprised at all.
Also, a new Blade is... fucking weird. I'm assuming that the vampire world is going to be fairly different from what it is in the Wesley Snipes run (I am not familiar with the comic) and there will be less world-controlling undead cabal stuff. Since that would be an odd fit for the MCU as it stands.
