@believer258: @big_jon: @csl316: It's interesting how all three of your comments make mention of the turnaround in public perception in recent years for Halo 2's campaign. I'm old enough to remember the unending internet discussion back in 2004 of how awful it was and how much better the first game's campaign was in comparison. I'd say time has tempered the consensus to view both games' campaigns as flawed but important steps in making the franchise's later installments into truly great experiences.
@kmfrob: I did a good chunk of the side stuff and have been to about 150 locations around the map (not sure if that's a lot or a little). I admittedly wasn't as drawn to the side quests in this game and ended up mainlining the story after a bit. Part of it was that a good chunk of the side missions involved settlements, which I was actively bored by, and the other part was that I never ran into anything as interesting as the kid town or forest in Fallout 3. I'll probably keep doing some wandering in the wastes for a bit, and hopefully I do run into some cool side stuff. Any recommendations on where to go?
@kmfrob: I agree with you on the story, I can barely remember the stories of previous Bethesda games, save for the broadest of strokes. And yes, Fallout 4 is a perfectly serviceable follow up in the franchise, but I can't shake my disappointment that it could have been something more.
@sbarre: The story was serviceable. I wasn't blown away by it but it did it's job. Like I said in the review, if you liked Bethesda's games in the past you'll probably like this one.
@heatdrive88: Any time someone posts that I need to watch it in its entirety. I am convinced that the meaning of life can be derived from the esteemed Allen Iverson's words.
Oh sweet, one of my questions made it on Jar TIme! I am now in fact running an Xbox One controller since the wireless kit got released and I can't see myself going back. The 360 controller has officially been retired to player two status.
