@szlifier Hey there, minor thing I noticed. The Extra Life 2016 videos don't show up when looking at the general Extra Life category under Other Videos.

@szlifier Hey there, I was just wondering if this is a thing that can be fixed. It seems that the preview function when adding a highlight is broken for me. When I do try to add a highlight and the video tries to load it it returns an error saying "The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." This seems to happen when I make a highlight on a premium video since those are only hosted on Giant Bomb.

It's a shame since I really liked the test start and test end feature. Thanks for the continued work on the site.

In my first playthrough I romanced all of the ladies cause I wanted to see all of the romance scenes, but on the days where you pick someone to spend time with one on one I always chose Kawakami. I just loved the absurdity of the whole premise of even being able to date her.

If I were to NG+ Kawakami is definitely #1 in my heart. Runners up would be Ann and Makoto. The only ones I feel I wouldn't romance again would probably be Ohya (she just strikes me as the weakest among the ladies) and Futaba. I don't know how yall can be romancing Futaba, I get such a "little sister" vibe from her that it totally felt weird entering a romantic relationship with her. I guess in the middle of the pack are Hifumi, Takemi, Chifuya, and Haru.

I REALLY like Hifumi's design, but she just feels a bit removed from the main goings on of the plot being in another school and all that I didn't feel all that attached to her. Takemi's cool, but I wasn't feeling it much either. I actually really liked Chihaya at the end especially since the quirk of slipping into her accent when you romance her. Haru is just introduced so late into the story and she failed to make an impact with me.

@zirilius:Well Blood for Blood may not seem like a "required" skill like provoke is for tanks, but when pushing for end-game content like savage difficulty stuff it's best to be able to put out the most dps you can which is only possible by having B4B. The other skill that I would consider "required" is for casters in general needing Swiftcast from Black mages, another class that I detested leveling up.

@belegorm: Yeah, I had heard from others that in HW their classes got more complicated and such whereas I was just there playing monk enjoying what basically felt like quality of life improvements for monk. I felt like I got lucky on that one. It's why I say it might feel unfair to some that monks basically have the highest single target dps while having such a relatively simple playstyle. Of course that high dps basically comes at the cost of our lack of relative utility to the party as a whole so it all evens out. Monks are so lonely. Why doesn't anyone else do blunt damage? </3 :P

@snakelinksonic: When I first started the game and read up on cross-class skills and such I discovered Blood for Blood being a skill you get by leveling a lancer. I think I was still pretty early on in the game with my level 30ish monk, but I thought: "Well the sooner I level up lancer to 34 the more effective I can be as a monk."

Leveling up that lancer to 34 nearly made me quit the game. I still firmly claim that leveling a lancer is quite possibly the worst thing ever, assuming you have no interest in just being a dragoon as your main class. I'm about to go on a rant so feel free to ignore this if you like. The leveling structure of that class is so borked to be not fun. They give you a 1-2 combo to start with that in total does 350 potency, but then at level 8 they give you an attack skill that does 180 potency so if you use it twice you do 360 potency of damage! There's basically no reason to use your 1-2 combo (with the exception of life surge every 90 seconds woo) until you get to freaking level 26 and finally get the third skill so you have your first 1-2-3 combo. I got so salty at how dumb the class played from 8-26.

I wish they took a second look at the skill distribution throughout leveling for some of the classes. For pugilist/monk they get their 1-2-3 combo basically immediately at level 6. That's the part of their melee dps system that I find fun, which is why it baffles me that for lancer/dragoon they keep you from having a 1-2-3 combo until level 26. The other minor annoying one is giving paladins their dps stance before their tank stance.

In general I'm glad they're taking a real hard look at the cross-class system cause it's so pointless as it is. All it does is make you level up classes you may not want to play at all to get the few "required" cross-class skills for your main class.

Got around to watching the teaser trailer and I'm pumped. I kind of want to play my monk now even though it looks to be more complicated than Dragoon since it's very position dependent. It doesn't help that my monk is already level 50 due to me getting him to max level during 1.0, so learning from scratch is kind of out of the question.

You kind of lucked out if you're worried about difficulty in playing a class in my opinion. xD I know the sort of common belief is that Monks are "difficult" classes because we rely the most on positional attacks, but other then learning what position you should be in for each attack the class is really simple. It's almost unfair how much damage we can put out with such a simple playstyle (especially considering how other classes got changed in Heavensward). :P I chose to main monk because punching is cool and was pleasantly surprised to find that it's still my favorite dps class even after trying out all the others. It's just so much easier and simpler than the others.

I agree that if you decided to jump in now, that the Palace of the Dead might be a nice way to reacquaint yourself with your skills. However it isn't really the best way to practice your positionals since everything in Palace of the Dead is designed for any party configuration and thus all positional skills count regardless of your position. Monks are fun! They get even more fun with the skills added in Heavensward!

@szlifier Hey there. I don't mean to be weird or anything, but I added several highlights to some videos a while ago. I was wondering if there is a reason why they haven't been approved yet other than missing them or maybe being too busy.

Here is a list of the highlights.

Video: E3 2009 Interview: The Beatles: Rock Band

Highlight: Who would wear shorts at a big public event like E3? (waiting for approval)02:41 - 03:23

Video: The Veggie (W)rap, Giant Bomb-Style

Highlight: Jeff performs the Veggie (W)rap (waiting for approval) 00:23 - 01:33

Video: The Matrix Online: Not Like This - Part 01

Highlight: Naming a character in The Matrix Online (waiting for approval)12:26 - 14:41

Thanks for all the hard work. The site continues to by my favorite way to browse through Giant Bomb content. :D

@szlifier Alrighty I'll keep that in mind if/when I randomly feel like marking game segments. Also I think you added it in a while ago, but man those test start and test end buttons are fantastic. I hope you can continue making the site better and better.

On that note....well... I dunno. I feel like if you did add some sort of recognition system to the site like points for highlights or maybe letting other users thumbs up or upvote specific highlights that would be neat. On the other hand I feel like I want this only because I can now freely admit that I just like watching numbers go up.

Keep on doing what you do, it's great.

@szlifier Hey I had question about the platform thing. Today on the Old Games Show 06/01/2016 Jeff plays some old games. Clearly he isn't playing them on their original systems but rather appears to be using an emulator. In a situation like this should I still put the platform version he is playing? Like he says he plays Earnest Evans for the Sega Genesis, so that's the platform version. I decided to just label it with the platform I guess. Let me know what you'd prefer regarding this type of thing.

@szlifier Ah I didn't know that was the issue. :3 If that's the case one video that I'd really like to add the game segment to is the Game of the Year 2014 Day Three Recap. That entire game segment was magical.

@szlifier Hey I was wondering why some videos don't have the add timestamps button. :3 I was gonna add the V-Bomb climbs moss highlight from Giant Bomb Unplugged: Pathfinder: Part 01, but it seems that it doesn't have an add timestamps button.
