I didn't think it would happen but Monday Night Combat seems to be the Internet's favorite.  Limbo would be a close second.

I'm sold on this just because of the 720 video.  There's a ton of times I'd just like to download something and watch it while I'm sitting on the couch.

Last week my Xbox 360 decided to die in the middle of a heated session of Brutal Legend so instead of sitting around waiting for it to get repaired I decided to dig out my PS2. I know it's crazy but up until last week I had never played Metal Gear Solid 3. Having beat the original PSX game and MGS2 for review in the early 2000s, I never really felt the need to see the series through. Last year I decided to fix that when I purchased the Metal Gear Solid: Essential Collection for the PS2.

In 2009 I revisited the original PSX title (which is still an amazing game) and MGS2 (I don't care what anyone says, it's a great game) but got a little burnt out and decided to take a break after close to 25 hours of tactical espionage action. Feeling the need to see what all the fuss was about I booted up MGS3 for the first time last week and a few nights later I found myself watching the credits roll. My only thought? What a great game.

MGS3 did so many different things and while I don't think any elements of it were executed perfectly, I would say that it's one of the most enjoyable games on the PS2. It's strange how Kojima can create a game that isn't a ton of fun to actually control and play but when you get to an end of a sequence you feel the need to continue moving forward. Like something is pulling you to see these characters through to the conclusion even if it means setting off a hundred "alerts" and getting killed over 4 dozen times.

I'm definitely going to play through Metal Gear Solid 3 again at some point in the future. I don't really feel that my initial play through was how the game was supposed to be experienced and my next time through I'd like to try my best to be stealthy. Also, I really have a thing for EVA and her.... umm... b... bike.

[I actually also played and finished MGS4: Guns of the Patriots this week but I'm going to take a couple of days to really let everything set in before I write about it.]

Where the F is Skullomania?

Does Capcom still have the rights to the SNK characters or has that partnership expired?

I already have a huge gaming collection but the majority of my games are for the Xbox 360.  As of late I've actually been thinking about my collection and have been a little worried about a couple of things.

Is it becoming useless to collect games when it seems that backwards compatibility is slowly being phased out?  I mean I'm happy with my 360 collection but if the next Xbox doesn't utilize BC does it make it pointless to collect them?  The reason I ask this is because back in the NES and SNES days the systems would last forever and creating a collection never really worried me.  I still have my original NES that I was given for Christmas in 1987 and it still plays games perfectly, but with the current consoles it's a much different world.  I'm currently on my 4th Xbox 360 and I'm afraid that after the next Microsoft machine comes onto the market that my whole collection will become unplayable with the system being so unreliable.

That got me thinking that I should start collecting games for the PS3.  The PS3 does seem like a much more reliable system but it's a hard switch to make when I have over 90 Xbox 360 games already.

I have no idea why this is bothering me so much but with every generation I always seem to make a collection of the games I love the most and from time to time I enjoy revisiting them.  Any suggestions?

It's been a Modern Warfare 2, Skies of Arcadia: Legends week with me.  Doing a backlog challenge over at the Penny Arcade forums and I've went a whole week without buying a new game!  Yay me!

I think I'm going to pick up Assassin's Creed 2 early in 2010 if I have a chance to play it.  I wasn't a HUGE fan of the first one but I did enjoy playing it.

Yeah I don't think I've touched ODST for about a week now.  As soon as I passed the campaign I just didn't really care about going back to get the things I missed.
