Haven't played much this month yet, but I'm positive that'll change in a week when I get my hands on Monster Hunter 4.

Update: I went back and played a bit of MH3U to get a feel for it again, and now I'm suuuper excited to get my 3ds and MH4U. Like, impatiently so.

@super2j: Regarding Killua, I think it's just that the situation's playing a lot into his deep insecurities about his ability to maintain a relationship like a normal person. He's witnessing Gon's simplistic worldview falling apart and knows it's affecting him badly, but doesn't really know what to do about it.

Also, 116 is absolutely stunning. The voicework- the facial animation- the silences! So good. Definitely one of the best episodes, though, there are a handful of episodes afterwards that an argument can be made for.

Hey, I'd just like to express my interest in participating in the group.

Also, I'm not sure if I'll be able to play at launch as I've ordered a New 3ds and don't know when it'll arrive.

As somebody who has struggled with being dishonest/compulsively lying (and liking anime), I'm just gonna put it out there that I think there's probably worse things one can be. Like, maybe obstinate self-importance/lack of empathy. Or being overly-nihilistic. Even then, I have a hard time seeing myself finding a person disgusting for one flaw.

As of now, I have no way of playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate when that comes out, so I'm definitely planning on it.

@believer258: While I don't know how much of a sports anime Ping Pong is (I think of it more of a drama/coming of age story, mostly because I haven't really watched other sports anime, so I don't have a point of reference) I think I can see what you mean.

I was also considering recommending Hunter X Hunter, but that's 150 episodes and the first half is "just" really entertaining adventure, before turning into a very ambitious exploration of humanity and duality and stuff you sound like you're looking for. And even then, that second half is structured such that it isn't for everyone, which makes the show really hard to recommend.

What's something recent and good to watch on the more "grounded" side of things? I don't necessarily mean realistic or slice of life, it could definitely be something science fiction-y or maybe even fantasy-esque. Perhaps something that's as much about a character's internal struggles as it is about their external ones, and less about crazy fantastical hero summoning.

Have you tried Ping Pong The Animation? It's pretty good (and grounded) and you can watch it all on Youtube

Heh, I think that description might've made my day.
