Strange that it's come to this, because I've been following Jeff, Alex, Brad, and Vinny since the hotspot days. My youngest was 8 when Giant Bomb launched and 21 now, so she's mostly grown up listening to Bomb/Beast casts in the car with me. I wish all four of you guys well (yes, I know Jeff is staying, but I imagine he's in for some long nights in the coming months) and I'll miss your voices. I have dreamed (like asleep dreaming) about hanging out with you guys so much that you feel almost like family. Go forth and prosper and thank you for helping me through some really rough times.
@escapevelocity: I could not agree more. There's still a tendency for some on this crew to want to criticize MH for being MH, which is very weird. I would've thought MHW put us past that.
I'm having a great time with this game, though it is a bit buggy on the switch. I've had multiple crashes. I booted my switch and I'll see if crashes persist.
@drew327: As someone who is 40+ years old, graphics jumps were huge deals on consoles. HUUUUUGGGGEEEEE. But since PS3 it's been very incremental and doesn't really change the type of game that is possible. The current generation and the next generation are more like refinements than truly a next step from what was before it. The only thing the new generation offers is decent 4k and/or 60fps and a guarantee of a shit load of microtransactions.
As someone who is 50+, I also find I care about graphics far less these days, pretty much stopped caring during the current generation. For example, I never had the "wow" moment with HDTV. I've seen some impressive demos on TV's in stores, but nothing that says "gotta have it" to me. My current platform of choice is my Switch, despite having a RYZEN 7 PC with 32gb Ram and an Nvidia RTX 2080. At this point, I don't care about either of the new consoles.
