Lee: Best of 2009

List items

  • Easily the best game of 2009 for me. I may have spent more time with other games but this is the one I'll remember the most.

  • Time sink of the year for me.

  • I can't quite put my finger on what made inFAMOUS so good. It was just really engrossing and really enjoyable.

  • Once I got passed the first few memory sequences I really got hooked. A million times better than the first and I loved that one too.

  • This is the only game that I am truly scared to play, yet I love it regardless. It's challenging, it's incredibly deep, and requires a ton of patience. Most of all though, it is rewarding as all hell. I've never stood up and screamed in celebration over defeating a boss before. I'm so glad this game is getting some much deserved attention. It's not for everyone, but it really is a game that everyone should at least give a try.

  • Party game of the year. I mean, who doesn't like the goddamn Beatles. This game also re-ignited my love for The Beatles.

  • Kind of a disappointment being a big Resident Evil fan, but I still played the hell out of it.

  • Not really worth all the hype, but if you look past that fact, it was still a quality game. The story was pretty forgettable like most FPS storylines, but I still found the campaign a lot of fun. Also, the controls took a little getting used to but once you did they were pretty tight and responsive. The multiplayer was also a lot of fun and pretty unique as well.

  • A love/hate game for me. I liked the campaign even though it was no where near as good as COD 4's campaign, and I loved Spec Ops despite the Echo missions being a huge pain in the ass. It's the multiplayer that I find kind of falters. It's more of the same (which isn't terrible I guess), it's broken, it's glitchy, and it's unbalanced as hell (dual 1887's anyone?). It's still fun as hell though, which makes it even more aggravating. If they go back and fix all the bugs and re-balance some of the weapons then I'll probably go back to it. Until then though...

  • I probably shouldn't include this on my list simply because I'm not even half way through my first play through of it, but from the time I've spent with it, I really like it. It's like nothing I've ever played before, and it's a refreshing take on Silent Hill. It's another game that's not going to please a lot of people, but every Silent Hill fan should give this game a look. It totally makes up for the complete garbage that was Homecoming. I hope they can retcon video game story lines...
