Serious Blogging Episode 6: YOUR MOM!!

Ok.

No, this episode has NOTHING to do with your mom. Nor do I know anything about your mom. It boils down to a much deeper issue: fucktards. The backwards ass douche-bags who make Fox 11 news for cyber-bullying over Xbox Live. This applies to any other BS thing over internet gaming or otherwise, but since XBL pushes voice communication more than anything else and MS NEVER looks at internet complaints, their net gaming service takes the majority of the Douches.

Why am I talking about this at ALL?

Because it was on *drum roll*... Fox 11 news last night! "... and cyber-bullying is on the rise on the Xbox 360 live gaming services." Also, think about what affect this has on the industry and, the average gamer. We will refer back to this in a sec.

So, lets get to the point. What do we do? A couple things; since you are all mature gamers over the age of 17 playing Halo 3 (right? I mean there are NEVER little 6 year olds on Halo 3), we can stop this if we are already doing it. If we see (or I guess hear) someone else spouting internet meanness. Excluding the fact that most of the people who get offended by a voice on the internet are being bitches about it, stop it. Its stupid, and they will complain (no matter how fun you think it is).

THESIS TIME!

So, why do you complain about Wii not having voice chat when this shit hits the fan (to whoever does that). These douche-bags are spreading 'bad' messages about voice chat. So, even though this will not even have an affect on how much it happens, I encourage you to stand up for, not the bitchy people complaining, but for voice chat!! Because... WII want it (catch the pun?)

Think about it!

And sorry, I need to get a recording thingie before I can switch to video!

Serious Blogging Episode 5: Sequels vs Rehashes

So I came across this in the SMG2 forums and well just read it and I thought it proper to do a blog response since this seems to be quite a big issue.

@demontium said:

Small changes that are not substantial and do not onnovate the gameplay through sequels is what Halo is all about.
So online play, dual wielding, coop play, recordable demos, editable level layout, multitudes of new items, abilities, weapons, and vehicles, new storylines, all new levels, new graphics engines, new hardware platforms, new control systems, new graphical and sound assets are all small insignificant changes?  Stop kidding yourself.  If Super Mario Galaxy 2 comes out with 3 new suits, all new graphics (both content and engine), all-new abilities for Mario, and an online mode I'd call that a full sequel. "
Sure if you exclude the fact that there were not multitudes" and that you packed halo 2 and 3's changes into one to make it seem bigger and that they could have all been done through DLC and that the only new control was RB to reload and- I will stop there, and the engine was still recycled and just cleaned up for Halo 3 and re-used in ODST and- OK I am sorry I said I would stop how rude of me.

You are looking at it in this way: changes are the things I can use or choose in the game.

No mario revamped itself graphically, musically, gameplay-wise, presentation-wise, and it had many hours of extra gameplay to boot. These are the criteria on which games are reviewed. They do not have sections for number of items added or the like.

Mario will and does not need and online mode, but Nintendo would do it great I am assured.

Have you seen the graphics in SMG2, they are a dynamic leap from SMG.

It is not about how many suites they added or the new modes that are in it, it is all about how new the gameplay is, and mario can reinvent itself through, say, an extra jump ability (the wave of the wiimote). Wow, sounds stupid and used in other games right? Well the way Nintendo does it is design the whole game around timing and utilizing that jump (or any other ability/suite/item) in a different and unique way.

Thats what separates A sequeal from a Re-hash.

Bayonetta Demo

It was really fun.

The graphics were really good.

The music was parallel with the atmosphere.

I do not see anything wrong with the game, yet the demo was very short.

The only problem I see maybe happening is it getting repetitive, but even in the short demo I unlocked 4 weapons and fought 3 amazing bosses and a couple mini-bosses.

I would keep my eye on this one if I were you.

Serious Blogging Episode 4: To each his own

I just wanted to start off by saying: "Thank you!"

You have probably noticed my blogs are getting attention; three people messaged me asking me to notify them when the next blog comes out. You can get updated by just adding me to your network (right below my icon on the forums or on the page there is a little button for it).

Ok, now that my whorish self-advertising needs are out of thee way, lets talk. First, I think someone owes an apology. The people (well one in particular) who bash a user called Al3xand3r for being an outward Nintendo fan. He asked me when I first joined giantbomb why I changed my alliance to neutral. Well TBH I was being a little bit of a coward. On a giantbomb review, someone was saying "oh put up your flame shields, here comes Al3xand3r!" Now let me get something cleared out of the way, Al3x is perfectly capable of defending himself, more so than I, but this is for argument's sake. He is one of the most intelligent and well-written users on giantbomb, he deserves more respect than that; his arguments are fair, so should yours be.

We all know this specific user is openly nintendo-based, and all the "neutral" people FTMP would look at that with a pompus "oh...." So, do you think those neutral users are actually neutral? Everyone is going to have a preference, and always is going to like one system over another. Same thing with reviewers, FTMP they are just gamers like us, and they are not always credible. I am guilty for bashing Casamassina for his a boy and his blob review. Then it struck me like it should have 87 bazillion years ago. No one is really credible. No matter how amazing the reviewer, they love something or hate something you do not.

So there you go!

Serious Blogging Episode 3: Can Wii fix this?

Lets not deny an evident truth: everyone who had a pre-existing Nintendo system (for the most part) bought a Nintendo Wii. An article about motion controls basically led me to discuss this issue. A major portion of those buyers who are actually gamers (excluding people who keep trying like me and others) have given up playing their Wiis; which is bad because this accounts for a wide chunk of the original Nintendo fanboys. So how does Nintendo captivate that crowd? How does Nintendo fix this? Or has Nintendo already done their part? The biggest problem that these nay-sayers shout about Nintendo are twofold: motion control and graphics.

Because Nintendo has already done their part in creating Super Mario Galaxy (a great example of amazing graphics and gameplay) and Wii Sports Resort (a great game with amazing motion controls). Those are just two examples of great Wii games from Nintendo, there are many more. So what needs to happen is some convincing. Maybe the solution is already there, it is just clouded. Look at the 'waggle' and 'party' games they complain about. They don't buy those games anyway, and neither does any other gamer, so why complain? No one is forcing you to buy it. Now we need to show them compensation that the Nintendo Wii is still a worthy gaming system. Lets look at the line up (because we all know you already have the good Nintendo exclusives): Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid other M, New Super Mario Brothers Wii, and shall I continue? A boy and his blob and Muramasa: the Demon Blade are great 3rd party titles. The prime example of what Nintendo needs to gain back their audience is Red Steel 2

There is no doubting that Red Steel was a bad game; it had poor visuals and controls, and the shooting was pretty bland. Look at the stunning art style and raw visuals that red steel 2 is dishing out. Look at the new gameplay mechanics that it introduces to the series. Not only is this just one game to the catalog of superb Wii games that already exist and/or are arriving in Q4 09 - 2010, it is a prime example of what Nintendo needs to bring to Wii. To quote a person that some people think is... well maybe I think it a little too, but just bear with me. "Nintendo brings more smiles, to more faces." We all know who said that, and we all commonly agree one way or another that she IS NOT a gamer, but she is ABSOLUTELY right. Nintendo is about fun. So forget the complaining of games you are not playing; buy the good ones. Stop bashing motion controls on bad games; you are not playing them. Use your Wii, it is simple, basic, and fun.

Serious Blogging Episode 2: Save your money!

Serious Blogging Episode 2: Save your money!

I look at games for what they are, and there are some games that make SO MUCH MONEY that really should not. Of course I am going to use Madden as my example. You see children (quoting Three Dog if you did not catch that) our society loves to buy these games, but it begs the question... WHY? Why buy a recycled series that almost does nothing for you. If you like these games that is great, but do not keep buying them one year after the other. What I mean is, if you bought '08, it is so similar to '09 that you do not need to buy '09. Why not wait for '010, because hoprefully by then they have made enough changes to spend $59.99 on the product. Yes I bashed Madden last blog and I have the power to do so again.

This is a good way to asplain it!

This is obvious for most behemoth sport realistic games (i.e. NHL, NCAA, NBA, NFL, and so on). The reason why I chose Madden is because it makes SO MUCH MONEY. They are practically stealing candy from a baby! Now be advised, I am not telling you what to buy, I am just setting out the circumstances, and if I were a frequent buyer of realistic sport behemoth games, I would want more for my money. You can spend your money on it if you really want to, because odds are if you bought '01 you bought all the following. I am trying to say that you should demand more for your money, especially if you like the series.  This all brings me to a very iffy bit of opinion: Super Street Fighter IV.

OBVIOUSLY Street Fighter IV was an amazing game, but will it be in the same dilemma that <insert stupid sports game> is in? Why not? People bought the hell out of SFII and all of its remakes, I am even guilty of buying SSF2THDR. Look how many add ons (this version does not include tournament and other SFII advancements) this went through to get to that. Can't SSFIV be taken care of through DLC people? It is too much money to buy 5 different versions of SFIV! Yet people are still going to buy it. You know what that tells Capcom? MAKE MORE!

This needs to be stopped!

Most people probably have not heard this because it is not a big news story.... yet.

People are boycotting SC because..... well i think it would be better if he explained it.

Think of sequels and such people!

The game is amazing, lets not ruin it because of this.
