So far dead space 2 is the GOTY for me, but that will change as there are some great games coming out this year.

It's the best game I've played so far this year for sure, but I'm expecting Uncharted 3, Arkham City, Skyrim and Battlefield 3 to put up a fight.

I got the 360 versions and have no issues with it at all. But so far, I would have to say Portal 2 is my favorite. However, I still have Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, and more to look forward to. 

Let's start a PS3 vs 360 debate because what makes Portal 2 so great are the graphics!!  Derp.

the 360 is the worst port as far as loading times and visuals, and if you bought it on ps3 you have it on steam. 

I guess you can't play online on ps3 right now, but it's getting fixed and you can play the single play meanwhile.

I haven't played enough Portal 2 yet but I actually really liked Killzone 3 and I'm getting Yakuza 4 soon. I think this year will be a more 'normal' year with the big GOTY contenders coming out in the fall. I mean come on Skyrim isn't out yet.

So far, yes. It's definitely the best so far and possibly one of my favorite of all time. However, most of the year's "heavy hitters" haven't even been released...

Eh Portal 2 is a pretty amazing game but when eventually compared to Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3 and Arkham City I probably won't even be considering it for goty.   I would definitely be yelling wtf if it doesn't get puzzle goty on most sites though.

It will probally be a runner up in most list, might win a few game of the year awards. I mean the game is actually 95% on gamerankings, these days that's very rare.

It'll definitely be on my top 10 list.  Where it places will depend on what else I play this year, but as of now it'll probably be in the top five.

So far, yes it is GOTY for me. It has exceeded everything I have played in the past year or so.
I don't know why everyone is praising Dead Space 2, though, because 3 hours in and it seems lackluster in the horror part so far. Not that the first was perfect, but I think they got the pacing right in that one right until you got halfway through.

Either way, The Witcher 2 is coming very soon and I expect that to replace Portal 2 as my GOTY. And then of course there is still Deus Ex 3, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Dead Island (maybe?) and who knows what else I'm forgetting right now. Still too early to make a final judgement.

GOTY? A very strong contender. I'd personally give it to Portal 2, but I understand why some people may disagree. A nice bunch of very good games has been released so far, with many promising ones yet to come. I'm sure ME3, LA Noire, Skyrim et al won't disappoint.

It's an early front-runner for me and probably the majority of the gaming sites now, but it's only April. Things can change next month if L.A.Noire turns out to be awesome.

Personally, in my own personal, subjective opinion, there's not much else coming out this year. I know Mass Effect 3 might be, but I really just can't find any enthusiasm about that game anymore. Who knows though, it could be amazing-er than Portal 2...

And I'm not even an idiot who only likes COD, because the original Portal is one the best games of all time in my opinion.

I'm up to chapter 8 so far, so unless the ending is the best thing ever and makes me forget about some of the shit I've had to endure so far, Portal 2 ain't GOTY.

This is Giant Bomb. I wouldn't rule out Mortal Kombat. It's THAT GOOD. However, as much as I absolutely love and cherish the new MK, I imagine that LA Noire is gonna come out and start taking names.

Not a chance. I've already played better games this year, and there's significantly more set to come.

Of the games I've played so far this year, Portal 2 is definitely the best. But Skyrim is probably going to blow it and everything else out of the water.

Portal 2 is definitately a contender. But unless ME3 and UC3 suck badly, it will be hard to beat them.

So far my big games are Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, Kirbys Epic Yarn and Pokemon Black/White. But we all know Skyrim is going to win!

It's a great game, but I didn't find anything about it so spectacular as to assume that it will be a GOTY.

I would have said it was a contender but the ramp up in difficulty in the last chapter really soured my enjoyment of it as a whole

I've been playing it on the 360 and the 360 port looks and plays absolutely fine to me. Personally it's definitely my GoTY of 2011 right now.

So far? No. If weren't for L.A. Noire I would say that Portal 2 will be last year's Super Mario Galaxy 2, i.e. highest rated game of the year which didn't win any awards. I think LA Noire will be 96-98 for sure. Still, Portal 2 will win very few awards.
