Wonderfully constructed to deliver an exciting gaming experience. 0

God of War 2 is the continuing story of Kratos. His powers of a God which he earned throughout the previous title are stripped from him, and he is now seeking vengeance. The story overall is an interesting one, but I was particularly impressed with how they handled the first chapter, in which we see Kratos fall from his position of power. It always bothers me in sequels when they never explain, or explain very poorly, how a character lost all their abilities and talents they had at the end of ...

It's a pretty lack-luster title, but there's just something about 0

This game was disappointing, but still provided enough fun for me to want to get to the end. It probably should deserve a lower score, but it wouldn't be fair for me to score it too low. Despite it flaws I did look forward to coming back to it each time I played. This game is not very innovative, and does not offer a lot that previous installments didn't already have. The funnest parts is the swinging, and the punishment that you can dole out. If you wanted to, you could take of your average o...

A fantastic action game, worthy of it's title. 0

The best way I think I can describe how fun God of War is, is this way: You know when you're playing a game, and your really should stop, so you say to yourself "I'll stop at the next save point." Then you get to the save point, and you say "Well, maybe one more save point." but deep down you know you really mean two more. That's this game. The presentation of this game is top notch. Usually I find cut scenes get in the way, and I hope that they're short. The style of the cinematics in this gam...

It's a good game with few flaws, but doesn't amaze either. 0

Dark Mirror is one of those games where almost everything is done right, but nothing is done amazing. It has everything it needs to be a fun game, but not enough to push it into greatness. WHAT'S GOOD: Controls - For the most part (see below) the controls are easy to manage, and provide the kind of response you need. Aiming is good, context sensitive actions are used well, and you can manage tight spaces fairly easily. Weapons - You get a decent selection of weapons to use in the field, but ar...

Amazing is too strong a word, but it isn't terrible either. 0

I think this game picked up a lot of flack because people were disappointed with the fact that it was PSP port, and not a graphically stripped down PS3 port (myself included). But, if you can put aside those emotions, the game that lies underneath isn't bad, it just doesn't feel up to PS2 standards. The basics of the game are fun (mindless fun mind you), but the trouble is that it doesn't evolve past the basics. WHAT'S GOOD: Old School Feel: It's a throwback to the days of 2D beat-em-ups that u...

A worthwhile Title in the Sonic Library 0

From my point of view, Sonic Unleashed is essentially 2 different Sonic games put together. Game 1 would be known as the daytime missions, and Game 2 is the night missions. They of course are presented as only 1game as the storyline progresses, but the game-play itself, well, as the box says, is different as night and day. In the Day missions you're regular ol' Sonic, running and jumping. We know it, we love it. In the Night missions you're the newly introduced WereHog version of Sonic. Less ru...

Not too complex, but everything it does, it does very well. 0

Tomb Raider Legend was my first venture into the world of Lara Croft, and I think it was a good choice. I kind of knew what to expect in terms of game-play, but had no worries of being upset with seeing old tricks reused. I wasn't expecting much going into the game, so I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered how fun it really is. TR:L seems to be a game that focuses on keeping things simple, but fun. Nothing about the game is overly complex, which makes for a good way to simply kick back...

Starts and ends strong, but the adrenaline rush is diluted in the 0

What started off with so much promise simply doesn't keep the amazement through every stop on the long trip. Thankfully the destination was worth it. Positives + It looks and sounds great + The escort levels are well managed + The beginning and the end deliver an exciting experience + Good mix of switch puzzles Set-backs - The middle of the game felt slow, drawn out, an lacking in fresh game-play experiences - The 'horror' of this survival horror title dulls after a few hours - My first time...

Exciting platformer with lots of action and a variety of missions 0

I was pleasantly surprised with how much more fun I had with Jak 3 then with it's predecessor. It may of had the same franchise name, familiar characters and locations, and a tied in story line, but when playing, it felt very different and much improved to me. As such, I will be doing a lot of comparison to the second Jak game. First getting from level to level. I find navigating the city streets in Jak 3 to be so much easier, faster, and less cumbersome than in 2. This is good, because I shou...

Lego takes you to the movies again, and it's still fun. 0

Lego Indiana Jones places you in an isometric world of Lego characters modeled after the first 3 Indiana Jones films. We've seen this kind of thing before in Lego Star Wars, but it still manages to be fun, and co-op makes it even better. What's good: Kill moves are adorable. I know doesn't sound right, but seeing a little Lego guy do a deady drop kick, or hand out leathal "nuggies" is just great. The characters have more style in general in this game (compared to the Star Wars games) with the w...

Action with a unique blend of gaming elements. 0

X-Men: Legends put you at the helm of a slew of X-men with a top down isometric view. You take your heroes (4 at a time) into missions kicking, punching, and mutant-powering your way through waves of enemies. There's lots of generic anonymous baddies to beat up, and along they way you come across lots of evil mutant foes, and a fair share of sentinels as well. Amongst all the action you gain experience to level up your characters. During each mission you'll come across "Extraction Points" which ...

Great action platformer with a lot of solid game-play to offer. 0

Prince of Persia. Yes, yes; If you like action platformers you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try it out. What's good: They kept the core game-play loyal to the original PoP. The game-play itself it fun, and that's what's the most important to me. Lots of acrobatic moves to pull off. Considering all the different moves and actions mapped to various buttons, they did a pretty good job of keeping the controls tight, although there is the occasional stumble. The environments look g...
