Sorry russians, Relic can't quite make a game about rape or genocide so you'll have to bear with a few tropes in the meantime.

Kind of surprising seeing the amount of people talking about 'hating the community' and then admitting they have never played a match without friends or pointing out that every MOBA has the same map when they don't. It's like everyone believed everything they heard without a second thought, like tales of witches and monsters.

I've always been of the idea that the Giantbomb we know and love would end soon, but in my mind I always imagined it would come from the guys moving on with life; With children and wives, new projects on the horizon or the quiet life of someone who is not on the spotlight anymore.

Now though- Now I sit here, lost in a mood and rationalizing why the death of a man who I never knew saddens me; Thoughts of never again seeing his passion for work, his commitment to the readers and the honest enjoyment of what he liked all irrationally combining into making me think of the man as selfish, a blemish in the perfect script of a happy life I had pictured for those who have worked so hard to entertain and inform us.

It is a sad effort then, trying to say goodbye and at the same time accept the reality that sometimes there's no happy endings, the universal truth that sometimes people just die and that's a full stop to the story...

I hope that in time, when the feelings have cleared, this sad event will allow me and many others to reflect, to look back and enjoy all the incredible little moments Ryan Davis left us all that much more.

Goodbye Ryan, you and your work will be missed. Fuck you for making me sad though.

Why are you guys so proud to not like Patrick? If he's not your cup of tea, fine, but there's no need to wear it like a badge of honour

We are celebrating having good taste.

About a year ago I played LoL on a daily basis for a few weeks. I was pretty decent in that I was never the one being yelled at by my team. I've had Dota 2 sitting installed for a while and I just need to know if their is anything I should know before jumping in. Major changes between the games, difference in character roles, etc.

Behold, my pro guide to getting started:

1- Check the hero list.
2- Pick one that sounds interesting and search DotaCinema for the intro to the character.
3- If you liked how the character sounds, check Dota 2 Alt Tab for the very basic guide on what to do with it.
4- Play the game. If you are hardcore you can bother looking up and learning about more advanced/Dota exclusive things like the secret/side shop, couriers, teleport scrolls, runes, Roshan, reliable gold, denying, orb walking, buy back and warding.
