@kabhukiman: interesting insight on both accounts. Is the 4:3 thing correct, tho? That would mean older SD movies that we typically see HD widescreen re-releases of - where we now see more of the sides of the shot than we’re meant to - are originally shot in a high resolution 4:3, and get cropped down to 16:9 for HD. Or in other words vhs tapes were giving us a 4:3 that was essentially zoomed in a bunch for no good reason.
I wasn’t a film major so I’m not sure myself. Seems off.
I'm hoping it ends with the slow realization that these two people just don't belong together, and start being more effective apart. But something tells me that won't work from a gameplay perspective.
edit: awwhh, this doesn't seem so bad. Like others are saying the acting seems to pick up a lot of the slack. I hate the very motion-tracked animation of the 2 playable characters in cutscenes, though, I gotta say. They could have sealed the "Disney/Pixar" vibe with some hand-animated characters.
Search Party! My partner and I have been blowing through it as well! 2nd season was a bit... lost?, but HBO picked up the show from season 3 onward and they clearly go to work hacking away some dead-end plotlines and things start getting better immediately.
They probably could have easily done some actual good graphical work to this game. Maybe added a little clutter to the massive empty streets, added functional lighting to the environments, maybe some AO at least. This looks ugly. I imagine I could get this looking better or at least this good on an emulator.
