I don't even hate it; I just don't think it could be much more disappointing without being aggressively bad. My ★½… https://t.co/Gj5vcEpUsb

rape is a strong word man.

yeah, i kind of regret it only for how awful the real-world thing is. from a critical ludic perspective though, i don't know how much of an exaggeration it is, though.

OH GOD.

i'm as terrified as someone can be about interactions with fictional characters:

i just saw a video of someone's dialogue with a romanced liara on earth and it was different than mine. but i was definitely involved with liara!

in the video, she mentioned "little blue children". she didn't mention little blue children in my playthrough D:!

Call me a softy, but I got pretty invested in my Shepard's relationship with Liara.

Now, what does the moment Shepard and Liara share towards the end of the game mean, exactly? The one on Earth, when the screen's colors go crazy and then you're standing in front of infinity or something.

Does this mean Liara could give birth to Shepard's child? I'm not clear on Asari reproduction, and a few minutes of research online hasn't revealed anything clear to me.

How Liara ended up on the Normandy when she was with me on Earth... well... that's another issue.

Thanks!

I've been enjoying the combat more than ME2 and it's still pretty easy so you'll probably breeze through it anyway on normal.

I don't know if it's just the PC version but they removed the story mode option. (they do have extra difficulty options that basically do the same thing)

i think i read that the option isn't shown to you right away; it's buried in a menu.

I'm still waiting on my copy of the game to show up, but I just read something that I feel an urgent need to comment on.

My opinion may change after being better-informed by, well, actually playing the game, but knowing that people are skeptical about the inclusion of multiplayer in Mass Effect 3, this RPS write-up about its influence on your playthrough's ending has me fascinated (the article talks about it in an abstract way, don't worry about spoilers).

So, apparently the end of Mass Effect 3 is kind of bleak, and there are only two ways to make it not as bleak as some reviewers seem to be saying it is: play multiplayer or do side quests.

This seems to strike a lot of people as annoying. Maybe it is. However, on paper, I think it's a beautiful decision.

I'm kind of an artgame snob. I think games should be expressive through their game mechanics (a la Jason Rohrer's Passage and Gravitation), not through cinematics.

My understanding of the game may be completely glib, but if BioWare is communicating that you need to help other people (side quests) and co-operate (multiplayer) to save the world... we have the biggest-budget artgame ever to be released.

I may be giving them too much credit. Maybe it's a shallow cash-grab. But I'm terribly optimistic and really proud of them if I'm right.

I just don't care about shooting dudes. I had my fill of that years ago.

Mass Effect's action never felt especially *challenging* to me in the first place, except a few climactic moments (rescuing Liara in 1 and fighting the Harbinger in 2 come to mind). It's mostly waiting around behind cover.

Other than if I'm overlooking some mechanical reason not to play in Story mode, I wonder if it would junk up the game's pacing real bad. As much as it's a little boring, sitting behind cover trying not to get shot provides some tension, right?

Can anybody think of a reason for me not to play Mass Effect 3 in story mode? I'm not a fan of the third-person shooter genre, really, and I'd rather spend 40 hours playing the game twice than spend 40 hours playing the game once.

Is RPG mode really just there for people who want as much of a game-y game as possible? There are no material repercussions to playing on Story (achievements, leveling, etc I don't know)?
