So I'm just writing this to get the achivement. But as a matter of fact, I have something to say:
F YOU ROCKSTAR. I got RDR, and it freezes on my PS3. I don't care you use 360 as your main platform and PS3´s version is inferior, but make it work at least. The funny thing is I send them an email, and they say "replace the disc", i do, the problem continues, i write again and they say "contact sony". Just take responsability.
And they announce a patch coming, and it says nothing about the freezing issues, it addresses the multiplayer, but not the single player.
 
I've read people had their system broke because of this game. If mine brakes, is R* paying for it?
 
The ten minutes I was able to play, i had a blast... i wish they fix it.

Everything else works like a charm. Is THIS game. It froze twice in the same spot while racing Bonnie, and then i said "well, i'll just mess around". It froze once picking up flowers, and once while running.
I tried deleting my save file, but it didn't work. I don't wanna put it in the console until the patch is released, because i don't know what it might do to the system (people in PSForums have had issues with other games after trying too much with this one).
 
Here in Argentina is not as easy as "get a 360". Just take into account that the PS3, bundled with one game, is 750 dollars. And 1 dollar equals almost 4 pesos.

Hmm, maybe it's your PS3? The game may be conflicting with some older version of hardware or firmware, or it might be stressing the system a bit and an older PS3 might start having issues? I'm no expert, but it could be that I think.
I've played the game with no problems start to finish on my PS3.
Since all game discs should be the same, it stands to reason that with the only differentiating factor between people having problems with the game and people for whom it is running fine is the system, then therefore the problem is with the system setup of hardware/firmware age, usage and version.

I'm blaming the company because they released a broken game. Bugs are funny, but they are bugs anyway. The game is not polished, and Rockstar is like Blizzard, they say "it will be released when it's ready".
Well Rockstar, this one wasn't ready.
 
 

You can not call a game " broken" just because you had some issues. If you want to see a real broken game. Go play Stalker clear skies without its patches.  
 
I have had NO issues with RDR on my PS3 which is a release one. 

Right, but you know why i stay away from PC gaming? Because i want my games to work without having to wait for the developer to fix it after i bought it.
And that's what Rockstar is doing here. 
If the game doesn't work, then it's broken. It's not my system, i can play everything else. Then it must be the game.
And it's not that i got donkey lady or flying people. It crashes and reboots the system.

Also is it just me who cringes everytime someone flatout insults a developer because there's a couple issues with a game they're playing? I know that the people paid a decent price for it but some kid who has no idea how much effort is put into a game like this and freely insults the developer and demands a fix on the spot just doesn't sit right with me...

I understand the frustration of having a game freeze. However just because a game freezes does not mean its a broken game. With so many variables at play  it s understandble the game may lock up. Luckly RDR as a some good autosave, so it was no big deal.

A game can't break your console, but if you want I'll come over to your house and hit it with a golf club.  Then at least when you tell Sony how it broke they will agree the golf club was the problem.

I would suggest then just returning the game for now and getting your money back.
Pick it up later from a bargain bin or something after they have done a few patches and see if people are still having issues then.

I put about 30 hours in to RDR on PS3. Never froze once.

I have to say, I have the 360 version and it has actually froze up on my a couple times. Just the last time I played it, it froze during a loading screen.

It's probably just the disk.

RDR IS pretty broken, although it only froze on me twice, in a 30 hour period (Not that freezing at all is acceptable, but twice wasn't life-ending). That game is also riddled with bugs, obviously, and sometimes is the definition of jank. I'm not saying it's bad, I loved the game, but it is pretty broken.
 
That said, OP should stop being a whiny ass. Suck it up, Nancy! When I was a kid, every game crashed, on every platform, three times an hour! If you could play Quake without crashing every 30 minutes, you were a successful and attractive individual.

RDR works fine for me.  But then again I'm playing the 360 version.  I enjoy it and sometimes enjoy the bugs and glitches that come with it..

Either you got really unlucky with your discs, or it's your PS3. Either that, or PS3 owners aren't logging complaints.

360 version's fine for me, only frozen once and that was after a really long play session (which happens to other games if played for that long without a break).
 
Maybe try one more disc? Or wait for updates?

Did you buy both discs from the same location?  It could be a bad batch or something along those lines.

You're either getting discs from the same bad batch or your PS3 is fucked.

I was playing earlier and it wouldn't load a crucial cutscene, the one in Cowards Die Many Times,

When you say "on every platform", i assume you mean "every platform".  I say the game is broken, because is broken for me and i found other similar cases. The same way it's not broken for the people that can play it with no problem.If it happens to different people, with different versions of the system, on different parts of the world, it's a major issue if your are one of them. If you are not, like it's happening here, then you just say "he's a winny girl" "

What? I've never heard of either game freezing and I've played each of them for hours with no problems.  Stop making shit up. "

Well I had a few very big problems also which allowed me not to continue the story (the horse's feet would get stuck in the ground), but after getting very frustrated for a few days, it fixed itself. I have also had many frame rate issues especially during bounty missions. I too hope they release a patch.

I fucking love me some Red Dead Redemption. I'm going to attempt to get 1000/1000 score and 100% it. But I'll be the first to admit, at least for me, that the game is kind of broken in spots. I've had a lot of issues where the camera will zoom out, my horse will start moving at around 1 frame a second until it finally stops, then it will float slightly above the ground. Then I am unable to move, hitting start brings up the screen with no options. Sometimes after several minutes the horse will fall and everything will continue as normal. Other times I have to completely restart the 360. Again, this could be my 360 but I didn't encounter any problems with the other games I play.

On my PS3 I had one freeze.  If the game is freezing badly, perhaps its a bad disc...

Its probably just you, me and everyone else I know who has this on ps3 hasn't had a problem yet.

My copy of RDR froze about 3-4 time now
