No not very easy, and no certainly did not share it with anyone. Just talked to Microsoft and they said it was a ToS violation and that I had to make a new account regardless of how it happened.... How's that for customer service? Again thanks everyone for the help.
I am afraid thats what I'll have to do Laticsfan. I think that if I do that I will need to buy another gold membership which seems really crappy to me since I am less than a month into my one year gold account. I just never knew that someone else could hack or somehow steal someone else's gamer tag. I normally just play PS 3, was giving the x box a chance.... Sad, Sad day.
The "ban" appears permanent, the system simply tells me that I must create another profile. No the console is not modified or in any other way breaching ToS. Since I can't log on to XBL I can't make any changes to the account, or passwords or anything.
This is my first post here at GB so I hope I am doing it right. I was playing some NHL online today and while in a match a notice popped up saying I had been logged in on a different machine and was disconnected from Live. I certainly did not log in on multiple consoles since I only own one. Now XBL is telling me my gamer tag is banned and that I need to create a new one. I am wondering how this can happen out of nowhere, can people steal your gamer tag? Is it some kind of glitch?
I am fairly new to the x box experience and so know little about the "dangers" of using the system.
Since I doubt that Microsoft would give me any kind of answers I am turning to GB users for help. Any info would be hugely appreciated.
