Yeah, it started downloading and I thought I should get some sleep, but I woke up to find my PS3 on the XMB. I tried accessing the beta and it would immediately quit out, so I restarted the system, reaccessed the beta and found my download an eighth done. I am watching over it this time...
@THRICE: It most likely will become available to all Plus subscribers eventually, much like the Assassin's Creed Beta. When you start beta testing with the general public, you want to have a pool of people related to its point in development, i.e. the earlier the build, the smaller the pool.
There's an easy way to explain it. Just earlier in this thread, @MordeanlisChaos told us how terrible the game looked when he last saw it live. Imagine if you opened the beta in that early a stage to a large mass. Maybe everyone who saw it would think the final product would be just as terrible. Interest on the game wanes, less people put up preorders, and when the game finally gets a release, sales are lackluster.
However, if you open it to a small number of people, and consequently fix bugs and make general improvements, you can open it to larger masses and then use that beta to help promote the game as if it were a demo. Bungie and Microsoft have used a similar strategy by making people pay for their demo (buy Crackdown or ODST) and making it available to people who will probably already love their game (Halo fans), so their bottom line isn't effected substantially if the beta turns people off.
Adding a person to the credits through that person's page doesn't allow you to specify his particular role on that game. Having a credits page for a game where their roles are supplemented by their blurb is incredibly irritating for me personally. OCD, ugh.
After Hope returns the knife to Lightning (I don't want to spoil why), he becomes bearable, mainly 'cause he has nothing to complain about anymore. Lightning is cool. Sazh and Fang are not unlikeable in any way. You may find them bland and less interesting, but they aren't annoying. Fang's voice actress (Rachel Robinson) is the best performer of the main cast. Snow is... endearing... maybe? I just laugh whenever he talks. I understand that that wasn't the desired effect, but I laugh at him instead of hating him. Lastly, Vanille, I like her. My main crew is Lightning/Fang/Vanille. I have to switch to Hope once in awhile (Proud Clad battle) but I stick to her whenever I can. Dude, that little girl can cast DEATH!
I haven't done any edits since the UI Overhaul (yeah, it's been awhile) and I noticed that I can't seem to edit the credits of a game. There's no more Add a Person button and after pressing Edit This Page... there's nothing I can do...
Same thing happened to me on my Second playthrough on Insanity. I had just finished a scene with respawning enemies that took me some time, and I shit a brick when I saw Standard Shepard in standard equipment and level 1 stats. Thankfully I saved... before that painful sequence. Supposedly it occurs during the Mission Complete scenes, and the PC versions have been patched for it already.
@SeverePapercut: Agreed. What if, for a contingency plan, the Illusive Man had mass-produced a series of robotic Shepards, or even other cyborg Shepards using Geth Tusks as a shell. If you betray him, it's you against thousands of other yous.
