Shouldn't MMORPG be a genre really? As things are now, sure might be needed to have it as a concept but I'd say that down the line each genre should have an article attached to it for people to fill out... Although I'm sure this has already been mentioned and I'm just repeating what everyone else is saying already... I'm just too lazy to read through the entire topic... :D
"I understand what you're saying Djungleurban, but where is it stated that locations must be specific?"
The definition of the meaning of the word "location" dictates that the place is specific in nature. Basically, it needs to be a contained area with a name. Rainforest Jungle for example would still not be a location, "Rainforest jungle with coconut trees and a mountain spring and a large quantity of grasshoppers" would still not be a location. Cause a location is a specific place... Always... That's why the word exists. However, a setting is just an environment where something (or nothing) happens. A backdrop... Therefore a "setting" category would cover both locations and nonspecific environments like a jungle.
I don't really see the problem with having a well filled concept as long as it is valid. Might end up being a huge concept if you overview it from the "difficulty level" page, but from the specific game pages in question, atleast in my opinion I would find the existence of a difficulty setting to be informative seeing as I'm more about the experience of the game rather than the challenge and having a difficulty setting concept would suggest the ability to make the game "easy" and thus more appealing to me. I'm just saying...
Then figure out a label that covers both actions cause having both seems redundant... Personally I can't do that cause I never really play FPS games so I have no clue what you're talking about but you seem to do so I'm sure you're able to figure something out.
Space is a quirky one since it's huge to say the least. But I think the reason why I'm ready to accept it as a location is that it's continuous. There aren't a little bit of space over there and another patch of space there and something else in between, it's all connected. Also it's a specific "Space". Even though there are technically billions upon billions of suns out there, there's one specific sun called "Sun". In the same way while there could possibly be other spaces out there in other dimensions and existences hypothetically, there's this one space specifically labeled as "Space" and that's our space. But then one have to make sure that the games in the Space category actually takes place in our space and not some other space. If the space location any game that takes place in space, for example Super Paper Mario, then it's not a location anymore but instead a setting since the Super Paper Mario space is certainly not our space.
Maybe then "location" should be renamed "setting" altogether. Cause "any jungle" is not a location but it is a setting. And the same goes for Hyrule, Spain and Space.
