The vast majority of people here seem to think this is a Meta joke, I really don't think it is.

- Jeff B seem legitimately upset about it on Nov 2nd and spent a moment on the podcast to just let everyone know it wasn't wasn't show they agreed on.

- Bill Paxton's estate is suing a doctor/hospital for wrongful death. I could see then threatening GB and I also think GB would do a joke like this in bad taste when his family is in the middle of that lawsuit.

- The Real Layers guy has been posting on Twitter for a month about thr Bill Paxton estate demanding he edit his content and how he has last say on his video and won't let anyone touch it.

- The Real Layers creator has posted a cease and desist letter on his Twitter. If it's a joke the. They can sue the hell out of them for posting fake legal documents claiming they are real.

- I've seen GB, especially Jeff G, act before and try to pull off this type of gag. They way they are acting now is totally different. Their posture is different. They aren't acting and if they are they are doing a style of acting they never have before. (FYI I've worked in film over two decades. Not saying I'm the expert buy I have a lot of experience seeing people act).

I was on the fence but I more then ever think this is real.

I just bought a monitor and wanted the same thing. In the end I found unless you want to spend $1500 you wont get a true HDR monitor. Mine does HDR 400 but as the reviews say HDR 400 is bad and just a stick they can put on a box to pretend the monitor does HDR.

If you care this is the monitor I bought in May for $400 (had a $50 off sale). Super happy with it. In a few years I'll get an HDR, 4k monitor and make this my my monitor.

It's with the New Day, or what ever they are called. I'm not a wrestling fan so while I am happy for those that are and will follow him this pretty much is the end for me and Dan... for now at least.

I went from HATING Dan on the West Coast and thinking he is ruining Giant Bomb to being really sad hes leaving the East coast thinking Gisnt Bomb will have a tough time replacing him. Hes grown up a lot these passed few years and become a pleasure to watch and listen too.

I hope Giant Bomb East finds someone with industry experience to hire (maybe another Game Informer staffer that got let go?). I love Abby but I dont know if I could take two, aka 50%, of Gisnt Bomb east beng new to the industry.

On a side note Dan mentioned moving again. I wonder if that means leaving NYC. He seemed to love it here. Would be sad if he goes. I would guess he's moving to Connecticut where the WWE main offices are but I could be completely wrong about that.

I don't know if it says more about me or the GOTY podcast but this year really super depressed me with how little quality content there was. Giant Bomb's GOTY content was legitimately one of my favorite things every year. I'd spend all week devouring the content trying to convince my non Giant Bomb friends to listen to it and debate with my gaming groups about the Giant Bomb list. Since Giant Bomb East starter the GOTY content became even more special because it was the only time of the year to see the whole gang do fun stuff together (E3 they have no free time to make side videos).

Now we have three days of recap of games we already heard, one day of "fun" list making, and one day of GotT dicsuccsion where no one wants to fight over anything anymore. To put salt in the wound the side group content became solo rants about topics most people don't care about. Sure Abby talking about mutton chops on female characters is fun but we can get that 8 minutes in a random podcast the other 51 weeks of the year. Why don't want short, solo rants at GOTY. This is our only chance to see the group together, please do more than two poorly produced game shows (sorry but being honest, past years have had much more effort put into production. I work in production for a living, I know when people make choices for convenience rather than putting out the best product. They didn't even get the sound correct on one).

I don't know how many of you listen to Waypoint but Austin and Patrick reminisced about past GOTY at Giant Bomb with at the politics and such and how great it was. I really miss that. They were talking about how they can't wait for this year's GOTY to see what happens and Id imagine even they would be left empty by this year's GOTY as nothing they were talking about in the past happened this year.

I am torn because I get why Giant Bomb has trimmed their GOTY content. They don't want to spent two weeks in San Fran and they felt like they were being to negative when it should be a celebration of the games. Yea, but this new content is sub par and left people wanting more. If they refuse to go back to how it use to be then they still need to ditch this format and find a better one. This content is lifeless and takes advantage of nothing that makes Giant Bomb special. Maybe ditch the GOTY podcast day 1-3 and use that time for group content. After all having half the group half awake or staring at the ceiling for hours at a time during the 12+ hours of recap when games they didn't care about where talked about isn't celebrating games. I don't blame them, I'd have trouble remaining focused if I was one of them, ITS 12+ HOURS OF RECAP!!!!

I keep going to the GiantBomb website expecting to find something I missed this year. This can't be it... but sadly it is. Please Giant Bomb don't put out this poor of a product again, its taking away what is for me the number one reason I love giant bomb so much. I'm not saying I won't renew my subscription or anything, you'll still be the best, but not by as much as you use too. As it is now I don't see any reason to listen to Giant Bomb GOTY podcast over any other site... and that's a very sad thing to say.

@shooby: I doubt Jason dislikes Dan but Dan gets on his nerves, mostly in a friend way. We've all had that one really annoying friend who despite how much they piss you off they are still your friend.

They also worked at Game Informer together and basically moved out to SF at the same time. That gives them something to relate with each other they can't with anyone else.

I DLed and really liked this game. Sadly I also just reuped World of Warcraft for the first time in years and playing that with friends. If this came out even a month earlier I'd be all over it.
