Much like Facebook isn't going away just because something "better" comes along, the only way to try and not have Steam be an actual monopoly is through exclusives or free games.

While Epic clearly isn't a better product, and it should try to be, going "why can't it just be on Steam?" kinda feels like defending a company's monopolistic status, which I'm not a big fan of.

It's a shame that a lot if the early more mechanically interesting factions have been left in the dust. One can hope for more interesting stuff in the future. There's only so much modders can do.

I realize a bot necro'd this, but now I'm curious what happened to this person.

@finaldasa: Does that link not work on mobile? It takes me to a list of about 72,000 games, moat of which do not seem to be fighting games.

There was a "dev diary", where they talked about it a bit. Something along the lines of not cracking down immediately in order to both not give the bot network too many data points on how it is spotted as well as collecting more info to better protect for future "attacks".

Not sure how that works vs these modern bots. They're definitely getting more and more sophisticated. They also seem to be claiming a lot of traffic on sites like reddit.

These bots, I swear.

@arcadefire: Given that EA was repeatedly voted "worst company in the world", when Blackwater was killing innocents, Nestle was poisoning water supplies, and BP still exists, I'd say that's a vain hope?
