I really enjoyed Valkyria Chronicles on PS3. It was a really cool and different kind of strategy game at the time.

I believe that Patrick and Brad are friends that go way back with the guys at 8-4. It dosen't seem more complicated than that. And since 1Up became a part of UGO/IGN I guess they didn't had such a big connection with that network anymore and decided to move...or was forced to.

To give a really short and simple answer - yeah, I think you should get it. It's a really good game and it really uses the controller in interesting ways. The beginning can be a bit slow but it also helps building the world and the place you live in so just go with it. It's worth it in the long run.

If you check the screenshot on their wikipedia page you can see Mario has a blue cap in game as well. I never subscribed to Nintendo power but I remember borrowing them from my local library, I even loved reading stuff in the older issues. It's sad to see them go, I think I'll grab it just for the sake of having it. Can I find it in the grocery store magazine sections?

Huh weird. It seems that the arcade version has the blue cap (as showen in the screenshot you refer to) but not the NES version. It's still werid that they went with such a old version of Mario's design though.

What's the story on the color of Mario's hat in issue 1?

I have around 100 issues of Nintendo Power sitting in a box somewhere, I should find them...

Mario's colour scheme was originally that, but they changed it sometime later.

Wait. Are you sure about that? When has he ever had a blue hat? In the beginning he looked like he does today but then in SMB he got a red suit and blue shirt, then they swicthed back in SMB2 (except for on the cover of the game for some wierd reason) and then I believe Mario always since SMB3 kept his blue outfit with red shirt and cap. I don't think I've seen him with a blue cap.

I remember how his color switch confused me when Super Mario Bros. 3 came. Even though he had the blue dress in SMB2 he still was drawn with red on the cover, the comics and the TV-show. And that were where I saw him the most. So for me Mario began with a red suit and then the blue one became a reality post-SMB3. It took a while to get used to.

EDIT: I looked it up. He had a blu cap in Mario Bros. BUT only ont the cover, not in the game so... does that count? Still feels lika weird design decicsion from Nintendo Powers since that cover was made after Super Mario Bros. 2 was realeased. Oh well...weirder stuff has happened.

Yeah, the time allocated to Far Cry 3 and PlanetSide 2 Quick Looks yesterday was instead spent wiping and reinstalling Windows on the office machine so that Far Cry 3 wouldn't run like total garbage on it. Kinda threw a wrench into this week's plans.

If some of you missed Jeffs response. So there seems to b an actual reason for being no new video content at the moment.

Complaint? This was a complaint? I didn't see it. I saw a glimmer of it but even that was stupid.

You begin with insulting people working there without any better reason than that you clearly have a preconception of who store managers are.

Then you seem to "complain" about the clerk trying to sell you a game. This was the thing that made you mad? it's called upselling. Everyone does it. Have you never been in a electronics store?

And in the end you actually told them that you have controll, that they are your bitch and that you use them as a rental service by being an cheap smug ass that think he is cool.

Where in your mind did you think this video was a reasonble idea?

Leigh Alexander has decided to use this opportunity to claim that the antipathy she earned by ruining multiple E3 Bombcasts with her screeching, drunken stupidity was indicative of sexism. Nope.

Annoying is annoying. Very true and many wrote and hated on her like they hate on other people. BUT a lot of people didn't just say that she was annoying or critizised her for being that. A lot of the community brought of words that should not be used and that can't be interpeted in any other way then misogynist or sexist. Did they have to use those words to tell her that she was annoying? Nope. But they did it anyway and THAT is sexist or just really stupid. You should not take those words in your mouth against women. And as I stated earlier. We don't undermine men that we dislike in the same way. Do we show dislike? Yes. But we don't do it in THAT way.

Oh.

No Caption Provided

She has a point, just a shame it dominated those specific Giant Bomb shows. Also, I am not sure the reaction from the community would've been different if it was a man doing the exact same thing. Interesting though.

She doesnt have a point at all. drunk and annoying is terrible regardless of gender.

You sure about that because I have heard Rory getting fucking wasted and talk like a idiot during some shows. When he does that he get's a very annoying and a high pitch voice, and LOUD. Did people complain? Nope. They laughed on the Internet and thought he was adorable. If Brad Muir would do the same people would NOT start to hate on him.

I'm NOT saying that people hated on Leigh because she was a woman but I think the community over reacted and did so because they could. BUT that does not excuse the way some people chose to vent their opinions about her because that was just straight up horrible in many ways and in a fashion a guy would not get critiqued in. Just look at the Patrick hate. Does he ever hear something sexist being said to him? Nope. Because many don't say such things to other men but for some reason a lot of bad sexist words get flung around when hating on women.

Straight up - I have no goddamn idea how to deal with this stuff. I feel like I'm being made to feel guilty for things that other people have done and then feel shitty about myself that that's my gut reaction to this sort of thing. I try not to be an awful person.

THIS. A THOUSAND TIMES THIS.
