What model is your motherboard? Use CPU-Z or HWInfo64 if you don't know. That way I can look at your motherboard's qualified vendor list, and recommend something way more likely to work flawlessly.

I'd have to go with Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

Weird development lineage, made when Firaxis didn't have the rights to Civ fully under its control yet. An amazing premise, in that Earth has failed and your problems have followed you to the stars, and you have to make do with the realities of humanity right alongside the alien world. Characterization, with the faction leaders being revealed through video clips, a trade-based dialog tree, descriptions of new tech and discoveries. An AI character that can be manipulated in the planet itself, using the will of a sentient world as a military asset. Crazy strategies like cornering markets, enacting mind control, or weather control via terraforming all being viable. It's on GOG and has a few modern UI mods, if you like 4x strategy at all and haven't tried it, I just about implore you to. For my money it's still the high water mark of the genre.

Just a few small hints to make your playthrough shine without giving anything away specifically related to plot or story.

* At three points in the game, you are presented with some kind of challenge dungeon. Do it once, maybe twice, before hitting your next story objective.

* When you get the ability to change jobs, switch Ichiban to the "Foreman" job for an overworld skill unlock that will come in handy. This is easy to miss. Look for boarded up buildings in the bottom left of the map; a key way to get items is hidden here and never explained.

* At one point, a party member will leave for an extended period. If you don't want to spend a ton on items, switch a character in your party into a job that can pick up the slack.

* Adachi's Enforcer job is probably better than his default one overall. Consider switching when you can, or it'll take a ton of grinding effort to switch later.

* The dudes that look like Jesus and don't take damage are just like Metal Slime from Dragon Quest. Tons of defense; drop them quicker with multi-hit attacks.

* Bosses that are resistant to status conditions may still have one inflicted by a more powerful summon, which have higher success rates.

* Raise bond level with existing characters as soon as you can, so that when you get new party members, the out of use ones don't fall behind.

* At some point you will get access to planting veggies to make bento. Having these on hand for the final encounters makes them much easier to tolerate.

OG Dragon Ball has too much filler? They like action over the bit comedy? I can't agree with either of those sentiments in the slightest. Sure there are staredown moments, but comparing anything in DB to Namekian style filler is just so off base to me.

Watching Dragon Ball after watching a bunch of Z is the typical American learning Anime experience for the 25-35 set. That's always what I'm gonna want.

This little ditty from Power Quest has stuck in my brain for a few decades now. Also of note is they built a working equalizer for sound test. Power Quest was great, despite its flaws. The entire sequence starting at 0:28 is almost without compare on the GBC if you ask me.
