It's a pretty natural fit. Phone technology is a huge reason that displays have gotten to the point where they're suited for head mounted displays. It's good news that we're already losing the tether so quickly into VR's resurgence.
I didn't realize it until I saw this thread that Dan Ryckert ended up in the first PS4 Sharefactory video that I made. I was completely unaware at the time what Dan Ryckert looked like (or who he was, really) so I didn't plan for, well this:

This came about because on a mission the NPC's were somehow spawned in where half of them were pointing guns and the other half were giving thumbs-up, resulting in a weird Guns/Thumbs Mexican Standoff. I then used the photo mode to try and make a stylishly cut tension filled action movie scene. Now that I realize that Dan occupies the stinger of the clip makes it all that more special.
I'm a little tired of all these deep dives on these types of iOS games because there's usually little rhyme or reason as to why they suddenly become so immensely popular. We've already been through it a few times now: 2048, Flappy Bird, Candy Crush, etc. iOS is a great platform but the app store market is really broken. Thus, I don't see a lot of point in covering "popular thing somehow tolerable" anymore as the market is so competitive that anything that rises to the top is going to be at least competently put together.
Speaking as an iOS developer who's often witness to the absurdity of the app store, I prefer hearing about games that manage to excel at delivering an experience unique to that platform, rather than the ones that are excelling at exploiting the free-to-play app space.
This seems like it's a thing that would better serve EA to try and get people behind Origin, saddling Sony and Microsoft with it is a little odd. I can only imagine if Microsoft's Games 4 Gold was more established at this point in time that they would have passed on it too.
I like mountain. For what it is, I often see a lot of words directed at the question of "BUT WHAT IS IT?" I hope more experience based things like this come out to shake off the notion that all games need to answer that question.
David OReilly is a fascinating dude, if you haven't checked out his animation work, please do. External world is a great place to start: http://vimeo.com/19723116 nsfw
I voted for microwave even though I can recognize that they taste better off the grill. My reasoning is that for such a low quality sausage, people ascribe a lot of promise to hot dogs. The actual quality you get out of a on-the-gril hotdog doesn't validate the work you put into it. Therefore, hot dogs should only be introduced in the event that you're already grilling other things and want something for your guests to be able to eat as an appetizer. Grilling buns is a fools errand and the only thing that enters my mind is the Grecian lore of Sysyfus pushing a large boulder up a hill only to repeat the task forever.
I'm abstaining from voting because I absolutely cannot give a definitive answer on the subject without specific examples. Please understand that this stance might sound absurd but it is litterally the _most_ important thing. Someone filling me in on who's winning the poll would be appreciated.
