Ys VIII is a fantastic action RPG (with a fantastic soundtrack, to boot) and people should definitely give it a shot. It kinda got buried in all the other great games that came out in 2017, but it immediately became one of my personal favorite games ever.

It was probably because I was a kid when I played it, but I always remembered liking Advent Rising. I'm sure if I played it now, I would think it was crap, but I remember having a decent time with it.

I thought it would have been WoW for me, but I remember checking when I resubbed for a bit a couple years ago and it was only around 350 hours or so. Other than that, I can't think of a single game where I've come close.

Persona 5 is definitely in my top 5, if not my favorite game (I'm bad at picking a definitive favorite anything). Witcher 3 is definitely great, although it might be a top 10 thing if I had to be picky. Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2 came out in English this gen on the Vita (where I played it) and the PS3 and now PC, and I'd probably put one of those on there as a surrogate for the entire Trails/Kiseki series (which I guess breaks the rules)

My gut feeling 5 favorite games that are definitely subject to change:

1. Persona 5

2. Deus Ex

3. Dark Souls

4. Trails of Cold Steel 2

5. Dark Cloud 2

I'll probably still be playing Trails of Cold Steel II when it comes out, which I was kinda hoping to avoid, since it means I'll be juggling two ultra-long JRPGs at once. Oh well.

I've been following this site for a long time, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to post.
