The bigger the site the more likely to be a whore the reviewer is, but they don't really have a choice in the matter. Big sites have to maintain a working relationship with the biggest and evilist of game companies to stay afloat, to get behind the scenes interviews or exclusive info that the readers want even though they are 99.9999999% PR fluff. If they are not getting those exclusives the readers are leaving to find a site that will have them. By "working relationship" I mean succulent blow jobs in the form of good reviews.

CoD: MW3 has a metacritc score of 88%, while the much superior game Yakuza 4 has a 78%.

Well they are releasing a HD pack of Yakuza 1 & 2 in Japan on PS3, hopefully we get it here. For a new player Yakuza 2 is unimportant storywise; Yakuza 3 & 4 have excellent summaries of 1 in them.

I am not sure if Need For Speed Most Wanted (the old one) counts but that was what I got the most play out of. I know the graphics don't hold up but the racing and police escapes felt perfect.

This list is correct. For exclusives you are not going to find much better then Valkyria or Metal Gear.

Resident Evil. Capcom has delivered 2 bad RE games this year, let it rest for a bit; go make a Megaman or something. Operation Raccoon City may be the single worst game of the year.

It came with Doom 1 and 2 right? Play those instead. Wish they just had a combo pack of the old Dooms, Hexen series and Wolfenstein on Steam then people could skip Doom 3.

This. Vita I can kinda understand because they have not really made any money back on it yet, but the PS3 has loads of the older models floating around. Not that it really matters what they do, the Wii U is going to destroy them in sales, especially in Japan.

This. I liked it but I have played better games this year.

I think we can give Half Life 2 a pass when comparing it to new stuff, its not really even part of this console cycle, it came out in 2004 a year before Xbox 360 was even released.
