"well, to be honast i have never been a huge fan of either, mainly because they were before my time. I have seen a little star trek and sceen all the star wars movies but all in all i think I personally prefer star wars. I think its mainly because of the way they are set out but i think the star treck universe is alot bigger and more interesting.

But i think while we're on the topic. Does anyone think that their will ever be another Sci-Fi series as big as either of them 2?"
Well, I think Stargate might be heading there. If Continuum becomes a success and more movies are approved... who knows?

"Star Trek, no contest. Star Wars is great too, but there's just too little of it (three movies, and a handful of games). I think the reason no-one likes Trek is because they associate it with The next generation, The original series, Voyager or the movies (all of which are horrible), rather than Deep space nine or Enterprise, which are much darker and actually feature story arcs that span longer than a single episode.
"
LOL, wow.  I'm not trying to be facetious, but are you serious?  I like your unbridled take on the issue nonetheless.  It's unusual hearing something like this.  Enlighten us, please.  Truly.

You break the traditional Trek perspective.

If it's all honest, I want to hear it."
The thing is, TOS, TNG and VOY are all episodic, meaning they are accessible to a mainstream audience who just wanna tune in every other week and see Picard; but people like us (e.g nerds) want more depth.

DS9 and ENT on the other hand both have long story arcs, with the last three seasons of DS9 focusing on a catastrophic war with the dominion, and season three of ENT focusing solely on the crew's journey through the delphic expanse in search of the Xindi superweapon, which when completed, would be use to annihalate Earth.
The same can be said about Star Wars; the franchise has two major story arcs, one being the rise and fall of the Empire, and one being the struggle of the new republic and their war against the Yuuzhan Vong.

The characters of DS9 and ENT are also more nuanced than the others' more idealistic and classically heroic protagonists.

For example; in one episode of Voyager the borg queen is demanding that captain Janeway disengage "Unimatrix zero", a place where some borg drones are put during their sleep and regain their individuality temporarily. The queen attempts to persuade Janeway by blowing up borg vessels; killing thousands just to get rid of one or two drones. Despite the borg being her sworn enemy, Janeway is deeply affected by their pointless deaths.

On the other hand; In one episode of DS9, captain Sisko is chasing a member of the Maquis; a group of settlers labeled as terrorists by the federation. At the end of the episode it is obvious to the captain that he's not going to catch his prey through conventional means. Sisko, whilst usually mild-mannered and willing to do things the "right" way snaps, and in an action not too dissimilar from that of the borg queen, he poisons the atmosphere of one of the Maquis' colonies, rendering it uninhabitable. He then promises to travel to all Maquis worlds and do the same to them; unless the fugitive surrenders himself to the federation.
This is pretty much the theme of most works in the Star Wars universe, people who - while fighting in the name of all things good - do bad things and let their dark sides get the best of them sometimes.

My, my. Looks like I got a little carried away.

I usually edit the bombcasts in audacity to make them fit the time limit of Audiosurf and play them there.

Rachel Dawes, somehow turned evil, so that Batman could kill her and allow the next film to focus his relationship with Selina Kyle and the birth of Huntress.

What Driam wants:

- Story mode akin to that of TS2; very loosely connected levels and no voices in-game.
- The ability to choose the anaconda theme in multiplayer matches (this feature was missing in TS3, which caused me and my buddies to play TS2 instead, even though it was inferior in most ways.
- Four players co-op.
- Better music than TS3.
- An SDK, so that people can make mods for it.

I think Nintendo really dropped the ball when they let Rare and Namco get their hands on the franchise (that fucking dinosaur that followed you around in adventures gave me a case of the rage that lingers even today) but then they made Command and suddenly things kicked arse again.

I wouldn't be too sure of that, considering how rampant piracy is on the platform; but given that 3, VC and SA are all available on steam, let's stay hopeful.
