Good riddance. I'm truly sorry to people for their jobs lost, but this game was a stinker.

My 6-year-old plays this religiously, and when I sit down to play with him it takes me less than 30 seconds to notice what a giant piece of ill-programmed garbage these games are; load times are obnoxious, game-play is clunky, controls are awful, and it crashes almost EVERY TIME he plays it. It's a shame that a game being aimed at children means that the programmers get to do a half-arsed job; none of this would fly for a game aimed at an older audience. Everyone complained about load times for games like Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne, and Elder Scrolls, etc. but Disney Infinity has ridiculously epic load times, and terrible controls. At least it's teaching my son patience, 'cause he doesn't seem to care; he's used to it by now. I love that he's spent hours in the level creator being thoughtful and creative, but the whole interface -- especially with 2 players -- is just infuriating.

I also won't miss acquiring piles of overpriced plastic figures every time someone thinks there's a gift-giving holiday. (First world problems, eh?)

I'm sure others have made similar comments, but the reason people rag on this game is usually because they played it on Wii; Twilight Princess was factually developed for the GameCube, and the Wii version was basically an afterthought; Wii motion controls were literally tacked-on to the GameCube version.

The thing which surprises me is that this fact was not even a secret when the game was released; Nintendo was pretty forthright with the fact that -- at the last minute, or after the GameCube version was nearly complete -- they decided to "port" this to Wii and "add" motion controls. (They also flipped the world-map on Wii, and attempted some graphical improvements.) Knowing this is the very reason I played it on GameCube (despite having a Wii at my disposal) because it seemed obvious that the experience would be better on the console (and using the controller) for which the game was designed.

The initial dialogue between Dan & Jeff exemplifies that; they were both kind of lukewarm about the game upon release, but Dan is "really enjoying it" now that he's using a controller. Those of us who played this on GameCube had a similar experience: we used a controller; it was a fun game, and and excellent chapter in the Legend of Zelda franchise. Link and Gannon in a one-on-one sword fight may be one of my favorite moments of Zelda gameplay.

This is one of the better LoZ games, and it's sad that it's had such a bad reputation. I'm looking forward to playing it again.

Just post on craigslist; I'm sure there are plenty in your area, if not a club.
