I think it's because big gaming companies know the customer will always come back to them. The video game community is incredibly vocal about certain matters and eventually folds in on itself. EA at E3 was a perfect example of this. Just a few weeks ago the hatred being spewed at EA was super harsh, but that all immediately changed when they announced a new Star Wars Battlefront and a new Mirrors Edge. People really need to put their money where their mouths are if they want the industry to take them seriously.
Gamers can't be away from their crack! But seriously, this man is right. I agree 100% Now if gamers can actually vote with their money and not buy things they don't support.
So many people are focused on hw great Sony's message is right now, and rightfully so. My only concern is remembering what the PS3 was at launch compared to what it is today. Sony has been known to take away things they promised in the past.
Remember how the PS3 was backwards compatable? Remember how you could install Linux on it? Remember how they had a terrible online outage a coupe years ago?
I'm not saying that Microsoft is doing better. I'm just saying that Sony could still impose these restrictions later.
Backward Comatable: No one seemed to care about losing that and that was making the system more expensive. (doesn't affect PS3 games)
Linux: IDK anyone who did this, what was even the point? Oh yeah, homebrew.... (doesn't affect PS3 games)
Online Outage: Because they got hacked? How is that SONY's fault?
Well the paywall for online isn't something I like, but I think we all saw it coming. Whatever though. Plus is a decent service and at least you get shit for your money other than just the ability to play online.
What do I care though, PC gaming master race with a supplemental PS4 for some exclusives. Done. But I must have missed the price announcement, or... did they announce the price.
PSN+ is $5 they haven't said anything about the system yet.
