Fatal Labyrinth was awesome but I never beat it because there's no way to save your game and no password system, and it's too long to finish in one sitting, or at least it was when I was a kid. Also there's no way to spend the gold you find so it's just meaningless points. If you could save and buy stuff from item shops it would be one of the best Genesis games.
There has already been so much Spelunky (and some Isaac) content on the site they might want to shy away from it. And for Risk of Rain, Patrick and Alex already basically did a "This Is the Run" of that game on their first try.
Yes, but the difference is it would be Dan and Vinny playing them.
I think action roguelikes would be a great choice for this feature. Spelunky is actually pretty doable two-player because you can revive each other. There's also BoI: Rebirth, Risk of Rain, and Necrodancer. Barony is excellent but playing over a LAN might not have quite the same magic.
As far as old games go, I think Second Samurai on the Megadrive would be perfect. Dan's mentioned playing it before, it's challenging, totally ridiculous, and watching Vinny react to what that game throws at you would be hilarious. I think it has unlimited continues, though, so they might have to commit to a no-continues run to make it work.
I'd love to see them play Legend of the Mystical Ninja for the SNES, but it's probably too long for a single-video run. Gunstar Heroes would be great.
If they want to keep the theme of beefy shirtless guys in red/blue pants going, then the obvious choice is Forgotten Worlds on the Genesis.
This is the best feature that's ever been on Giant Bomb.
Contra's 30th birthday is February 20. I hope they beat the game on that day. One, it would be poetic, and two, it means we get almost another month of this. #blessed
When Dan says "I never thought X matters because it doesn't apply directly to my life," he's not saying it doesn't actually matter, he's saying that he understands that this viewpoint is wrong and he wants to understand why. Hope this helps, everyone.
If the emotional impact of your art can be replicated by sneaking up behind someone and yelling "boo", it's shitty fucking art
...Sick burn? If you really think this game is on the same level as PT in terms of quality, tone and writing then sure. Sick burn, I guess.
What? PT has fantastic art and sound design, of course I don't think this game is on the same level. I'm talking about this trend of horror games and movies that literally have nothing to offer but jump scares.
