This is Giant Bomb's best surprise list, but it sometimes seems like the PUBG hype gets in the way of things.
While I'd agree that the sensation the game has become is very surprising, not much about the game is, otherwise. As others have pointed out, it borrows heavily from games that topped Steam charts in the past for years (DayZ, ARMA, H1Z1) and then adds a competent competitive online shooter layer. The duders themselves never gave those games much credit, but the PC community as a whole has been playing and streaming the hell out of those games for a long time now.
The fact the PUBG is the stream game of the day isn't surprising if you were paying attention to the trend.
I don't think it's fair to cry "Old Dan" because he doesn't like Assassin's Creed games. Many people dislike them. I really dislike them. I feel it's the most over rated series in video gaming for many reasons I won't bore people with.
Lay off personal attacks because someone doesn't like what you like.
It seems Abby has some S+ tier poop and fart joke capability, but with the recent reveal of Alex and Dan's distaste for potty humor, how will they all cope? DRAMA!!?!?!?!
