Modern American culture is somewhat awkward in the fact that violence and gore are usually fine (to a certain extent, of course), while the mere mention of female privates or other sexually characteristic content are almost instantly deemed taboo and inappropriate.
Honestly, we could really delve pretty deeply into this and probably even eventually end up moving to a subject as off-topic as abortion or something, so I'll just...stop there, lol -- either way, though, it's pretty interesting to see the position that parents stand in regard to the explicitness of what content they'd like their kids not being exposed to in everyday media, but, really, I'd say that it's primarily an individual thing as well; and that, in turn, brings a bunch of different variables into the foray, which is something I'd be glad to go over -- just not right now, because I've got, you know, a day to enjoy and games to play and all that jazz...:P
Can't think of any at the moment, for whatever reason (honest, lol :P).
I never really enjoyed that many movies that relied heavily on melodrama, anyway, but those that were actually able to pull off some genuinely heart-wrenching stories or character interaction can squeeze out a pretty...accurate showing of my manliness, lol. >_< *cough* Whatever the case, currently, the only ones that come to mind are Grave of the Fireflies and Schindler's List -- other than that, though, I'm going on a blank. O_o
