Dan, you have been a wonderful, hilarious part of my life for the past decade, and I'm going to miss you a lot.
Thank you for being you. This goes beyond playing video games - you give people who are struggling with various things something funny, thoughtful, or dumb as hell to look forward to, and I'll never forget it.
Dan, I don't know if you'll ever read this, but you have been a central part of my entertainment and joy for a full decade now. From your time at Game Informer with Tim & the hilarious Super Replay of Tail of the Sun, Blue Stinger, and of course Overblood, through your countless Giant Bomb moments and playthroughs (Metal Gear Scanlon, Mario Party Party, Steal My Sunshine, etc.), I was enthralled with your unique energy and sense of humor. You brightened up every workspace you've ever been, and your genuine enthusiasm for Nintendo, Metal Gear, and wrestling provided a voice for people like me who dig all that fun (and occasionally dumb) stuff unabashedly.
You're the most genuine dude I've ever seen. You aren't afraid to ask the stupid questions & occasionally ones people pretend to have the answer to but fail to actually deliver on. It makes for hilarious moments, but it also shows your genuine interest in stepping out of your comfort zone and learning things that not everybody knows but are too afraid to ask since they think it'll make them look stupid. And hey, sometime it does, but you take it on the nose and have the ability to laugh at yourself. It's a trait most people don't have, and I admire both that and your openness about anxiety. When I'm feeling down, seeing a fun feature with you in it always makes me feel better.
I'm really gonna miss you, Dan. Thank you for this full decade of countless memories.
You guys getting all together to do fun holiday videos was easily the best content of the year. To eliminate that almost entirely for more extensive video podcasts makes me feel disconnected from what I love about what you guys do.
Glad to hear the positivity for what this game actually is. It'd be so fun to watch an Endurance Run of it. There's something included in the main menu that serves as a catch-up of sorts, too.
