Fantastic Article Alex

Personal attachment to certain franchises often leads to attachment for the publisher and their other properties. I'm personally happy that studio's that made great games will stay intact as they go to different publishers, but for the others, I hope that they find greater opportunities among the wreckage.

I thought the GBC games were lame, but not terrible.

@hermes:I wish you all the best with your petition. Personally, I would love to listen to them talk about a JRPG, that would be time well spent in my books.

Hopefully the majority of people will be mature about this story and take it somewhat seriously, and not have it lead to another demonstration of classic internet "turd-throwing". We all can't be kids forever, sooner or later we all need to act our age and accept societal differences and varying opinions amongst our peers.

If all those games launch this year, then there is strong evidence for people to purchase a Wii-U. Both Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, and Mololith Soft's Xenoblade Successor are my personal favorites out of this announcement, and I cant wait to hear more Information about them later this year.

Anything made to ridicule "media culture" then I am all for it, but the use of Representative Canadian tropes/national references can be misleading as culturally insensitive. Personally, I thought it was more meant for comedy in the casual sense.

For a games story, I feel it need to improve from the outset, allowing the player to be invested early. A twist often implies the developers had a great idea halfway through developing their core idea, and then deciding to throw in a new direction for the main story halfway, and or later in the story of the game. If the game's story is bad and unappealing from the beginning, then there is little chance that the late game twist of its core narrative could salvage an already bad story into a positive experience.

@Stonyman65:

I agree to your Spec Op's example as being the closest representation for a mid-game narrative twist that saves a bland, generic story from being anymore bland, and generic.
