@oldsurly:For the whole time, I was waiting for it to become this amazing game I heard so much about but then the credits started rolling. It's a great game but not that great.
I hate when that same thing happens to me (and it happens way too often). I start listening to the hype either intentionally or through osmosis and my expectations go through the roof. When I at some point get to play through the game myself, I most often end up disappointed.
Some people once again taking these choices way too personally... I don't understand this weird need to have your own opinions validated through some damn list at all.
Wait, you're not cumming paragraphs about how Doom is the be-all-end-all of all shooters ever and you have anime on your list? With Overwatch on top? Man, you're the coolest motherfucker on this site. (And probably the biggest reason why I'm still visiting this place. Love ya, fam.)
That makes you sound like you visit this site just to have someone validate your own opinions. Which is a weird thing to do. I love listening and reading these guys opinions despite mostly finding myself disagreeing with them.
Isn't the winner of the PLEASE STOP category pretty similar to shipping broke-ass games that won in 2014 and was runner-up in 2015 or is it just me?
I guess the difference is that broke-ass games just tend to be buggy messes and with unfinished games we're talking about products that are missing actual (promised) content at release. But I haven't watched the deliberations yet so I'm not sure.
Man I almost feel bad for Papa Ryckert here. Poor guy.
He seems like quite the ladies' man though ;)
To be honest, I do too. I intended to stick with the theme of the podcast that he suggested. At the end, though, my usual podcast instincts of "oh, that reminds me of this, and now I'll bring it up" kicked in. I wasn't trying to make him look bad, but I brought up something that upset him without thinking. I apologized to him afterwards.
It's bound to happen occasionally when you guys have such a free-speaking and cool relationship. I'll take this opportunity to thank you both for all these amazing podcasts and videos, all the way back from the Game Informer days.
That reminds me, if you see this, are you guys gonna do the Paul Ryckert Quick Look Extravaganza this year too? I sure hope so.
@hassun: Please give it a shot (assuming you already haven't tried it on consoles). No other game like it really exists with all its interesting and unique design choices, it's quite a thing.
