Games completed in 2011

List items

  • Grubbins on Ice DLC. Most of the same, which is pretty good! I hope they do more of these, but they have to change gameplay up a bit!

  • Great game, I really enjoyed it. I ran into some bugs but it was well worth suffering through repeating the level all over again. Awesome tie-in to the original.

  • Extremely fun little game. Had a blast with it!

  • Played for review. I didn't like it! At all.

  • This game is incredibly good. Seriously, I loved playing this. I managed to go beyond the horrible PSP controls and actually enjoy it immensely, which only goes to say how awesome Peace Walker is. This isn't to say it's not without any flaws - button mashing sequences suck and shouldn't be in a portable. Period. Other than that, tons of fun and still a few things to accomplish here and there. Easily recommendable.

  • Let me come out and say it: I don't think this game was as good as people hail it to be. Sure, the atmosphere and setting is pretty awesome, but the monster designs and the way you encounter them were pretty laughable. This is basically a third person Doom 3 for me. Not that I disliked Doom 3 but people called that game out for its monster closets while Dead Space managed to slip through. Good game overall, though, had lots of fun with the weapons.

  • Overall enjoyable, but sometimes a little frustrating. The platforming sections were mostly awful due to the delay in jumping that really put me off during the entire game. I'll probably jump back to it later to finish challenges.

  • My opnion on Dead Space is echoed in Dead Space 2. I like the games a lot but the jump scares and lame monster designs remain in this one. I am glad I played this really near release so I can wait the two years for the inevitable Dead Space 3. I probably won't even touch multiplayer and a second playthrough will probably happen in a few years, but not now. On to the next game on the backlog.

  • This game started out great and dropped down to just okay. The end is pretty unplayable thanks to some performance issues. I'm considering this one beat but I've still gotta jump back and actually finish the last stage. Eh.

  • I got this on a whim while it was on sale on PSN. It's pretty good! I loved it. Too bad Capcom won't ever do this for the rest of the X franchise. Now I want to play Megaman Powered Up!

  • AWESOME game. Characters are brilliant, the writing is great and it's challenging enough to figure out puzzles for myself. Incredible animation as well. Please Capcom, make more of these.

  • I mostly liked this one a lot. Some of the button mashing segments feel very out of place. Pretty fun campaign, I dug the stealth parts a lot. The shooting was pretty much like The World is Not Enough, with enemies being more like bullet spunges than anything... and that's no surprise, it's the same developer. Have yet to try multiplayer.

  • XBLA version reviewed. Good port!

  • You know you can never be done with this game right? Well, I finished the story and it was pretty epic and I'll keep playing this for the rest of the content as long as I can bear to!

  • Great story, somewhat lackluster game. The puzzles weren't at all puzzles per se for most of the game. It did get really interesting by the end. Not really replayable right off the bat, even with pool. Pool in this game is awful!

  • 'The Arrival' DLC completed. Pretty throwaway and hastily put together downloadable pack. The story is pretty inconsistent but the action is pretty darn good (as always), but this pack is totally unnecessary in the overall scheme of things for Mass Effect 3! Played for review.

  • Main game and DLC.

  • Finished up the story, now to keep going for a few more secrets. Last time I played one of these games was for Blue and even though that was more than ten years ago, it resonated a lot while playing Platinum, which is pretty damn scary... were these all the same game all this time? Crazy!

  • Really pleasant surprise. Great game. Completely generic sounding from the name down to the concept.

  • Weak PS3 port of an otherwise excellent game.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Finally 300/300. See you in Autumn, FHP!

  • Maybe I'm burned out on this type of game but this one just came off as "just another God of War". Not that's a bad thing - I had fun. Cool use of some mythological characters too.

  • Great game, another awesome download by Double Fine.

  • I started out not liking this game much but it grew on me. The story is wonderful and it's by far one of the best out of a Rockstar game. Hope to see more DLC that's promised ahead!

  • Truly beautiful. I'll still go back to game+. Great game, one of the few that lived up and surpassed the hype!

  • Dead Money finished - pretty damn good, in my opinion.

  • Great game, I really dug the atmosphere and setting. The monsters are a little annoying but nothing out of this world, pull my hair out AHHHH. :)

  • Great game, I had a blast reviewing it! Bring more DLC!!!

  • INCREDIBLE. Loved every bit of it. Dying to play co op now.

  • What a innovative concept tied to a mediocre game. Completely imprecise controls tied to a dumb story and you get Mirror's Edge. This is one of the few games I am glad is short.

  • Fun and challenging game. I hope to get to the DLC at some point.

  • Awesome game!

  • I really enjoyed this one. The combat is a lot of fun, some of the quests are a little repetitive and the later sections are battle of attrition but overall, well worth playing.

  • I am completely awful at games and I absolutely loved this game. Sure, it kicked my ass at the beginning but it felt super rewarding by the end. After some ore trading due to their incredibly annoying drop rate, I have managed to get the platinum trophy. Looking forward to Dark Souls. Good stuff!

  • I enjoyed this one even with its flaws. Very atmospheric!

  • Interesting concept, somewhat flawed. The story almost makes up for it. I liked it.

  • Amazing game. Loved the setting and the story. The ending, however, left a lot to be desired. Witcher 3 is inevitable!
