Boy, Baulder's Gate could've been cool but uh, as a really squeamish person starting a non-horror game off with first-person body horror seems like a CRAZY choice?

I'm VERY much looking forward to getting context for that deck.

This was a hell of an episode for someone with no nostalgia/reverence for SF in general and especially SFII. It seems... Worse than they're saying for sure.

this is how cyberbullies dress before logging on

If it wasn't for Vinny in the Terminator mask + hat from Burgle My Bananas, I'd say this is the funniest image from GB this year.

Also this was a total delight, congrats to the winner!

@sethmode: The problem isn't that the "I don't like it, but you might" isn't implied, but sometimes they (and other people) actively go in the other direction and you get "I don't understand HOW people can like this" with a condescending tone toward the people who do.

People act like people can't like a variety of things and that if they like, say, a Death Standing or a Kingdom Hearts they just have bad taste and don't understand what "real good writing" is, as if everyone judges quality the same way. It gets old and leads to things like someone else said where they stop talking about a thing they like because having to defend it against people who are so dead set on hating is tiring.

@ripelivejam: Oh I'm fully aware it's a minority opinion, I just found the first one to be way too military (i.e. too self-serious), obscure all of it's fights in darkness/rain, had bad mech designs, and the worst main character/actor I've seen in a LONG time.

Uprising fixed basically ALL of those problems and was actually a fun movie. But if there's anything I've learned it's that people hate "fun".

Man, this mech conversation bums me the hell out. As someone who's really deep into the genre, the only things coming up being Eva and the first Pacific Rim is a bummer. There's like 50+ years of that stuff! It's all really cool! Watch old Gundam! Watch Gunbuster! Watch Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still!

Also Pacific Rim: Uprising was better.

Votoms is the best Mecha : - ) add that to the list!

Literally recently just bought all of it (there was an insanely discounted sale) so it's on my personal list as I haven't seen it yet!

Sonic X is in fact an anime, it's entirely Japanese made and dubbed. It's about Sonic being transported to the human world (just like the movie!).

And yes, the English opening for it is where "Gotta go fast" is from.
