I hope they streamlined the experience, if not for the nostalgia rush I wouldn't have spent as much time with the first one. Grinding Rhythmia for extra songs was terrible and as far as rhythm games go you spent a lot of time in meaningless menus confirming your Rhythmia and EXP gains. A minor thing but it really got on my nerves.

That said, over 200 songs is almost as crazy as including Dark City Treno over Eiko's theme.

The combat in Endless Space was pretty terrible all things considered, I auto-resolved all but the most crucial battles, but it's probably my favorite spreadsheet and resource management game. I had so much fun just researching tech, colonizing and squeezing the most out of my star systems with mellow space tunes in the background.

Here's hoping they learned a lot from ES.

Ken's FEMC social link in P3P goes to some weird places but it makes him that much more tolerable. At least a wee lad wielding a spear should make for an interesting move set.

A shame this "charm" is lost on so many, I got my fill from the demo but I really liked the music.

Naoto wasn't agonizing over sexual identification, she came from a long line of detectives and was afraid of being looked down upon in the field for being a woman. When entering the secret base dungeon I think Kanji or Yosuke said that they always dreamed of having one as kids, painting it as a stereotypical childish and boyish thing. The MC doesn't suddenly set her sexuality straight, he helps her accept her for who she is. Taken the wrong way and trying to identify with her as trans must feel terrible but that's not what they were going for.

Kanji was just overcompensating for his "girly" hobbies by beating up biker gangs and developed a complex about girls. His crush on boy-Naoto was probably the main influence for the gachimuchi dungeon. I was disappointed you couldn't date him but that's just me, there was a gay relationship option in Innocent Sin already.

I know gay bathhouses are a thing but didn't make the connection until now, weird.

Wait, what about Xenoblade Chronicles? Why not recommend dat shit?

Women in refrigerators and Sharla shouldn't be hiking snowy mountain tops in that top, not to mention the risqué alternative costumes.

The men can also wear those costumes.

Even the bikini and hot pants? I need to get back to it pronto, combat became a joke after my party got so over-leveled doing side quests that I quit.

It's crazy seeing this new wave of pushback against sexism in games, where people are saying that this industry will be taken lessseriously if we stop having female characters run around battlefields in bikinis.

It all boils down to the same old inferiority complex, huh.

I could get used to seeing visual novel reviews on bigger sites, Destructoid gave it a fair 8. Officially translated VNs aren't exactly a new thing but between this and the doujin games that have been hitting Steam lately the PC space is looking more and more diverse.

It was pretty boring but constantly sailing between Vizima and the swamp was the actual worst. The Water Lords are nigh.
