Mk is to late because there are only the super hardcore fighting duders.

I don't think it's too late. Since the online experience have become more stable, you can argue that now is the time :-)

There are still quite a few people playing with a 15% wins and less that 100 matches played. These people will probably not turn down challenges from players with similar stats.

You have to be prepared to loose a lot, before you start getting better though. It's the best way too learn the kinks, rules and priority of moves, is by being exposed to better players.

Actually spammers are the best way to learn how counter one specific move. So while it may be annoying - accept a rematch.
He'll probably do the same thing again, and you have an entire additional match to figure out what to do against it.

... and as you begin to learn the game, you can start setting personal goals for yourself - like reaching a win-percentage of 25% as an example... and so on.

When I begin to think about it I actually get how he came to his conclusion. Since the ice-clone just magically appears out of nothing, it has no motion.

It must all come down to what you believe the nature of the ice-clone actually is I suppose:
- Is it solid?
- How heavy is it?
- Does it weigh the same as Sub Zero?
- Does it in fact appear as by magic, with no prior motion added?
- Is it simply a shell made of a frozen layer of Sub Zero's sweat?
- If it is simply a shell and thus much lighter that Sub Zero, I figure it should be propelled even faster forward as if thrown.
- And if that is the case, does Sub Zero get marginally lighter every time he makes an ice-clone?
- How retain its cold, and how does it give off it cold fast enough to freeze someone?
- Why does it disappear shortly?

... I may be over-thinking this...

- a mid-jump ice-clone would continue the trajectory of the jump.

That would not happen it would fall to the floor wherever it was made.

Why actually?

I'll admit that there is a bit of a disconnect in trying to apply real-world laws of physics to a concept as the ice-clone, since it is basically mass that appear out of nothing.
...But given we've already accepted that part of the ice-clones nature, I figure that it will continue onward with same speed as the host - or at the very least be pushed forward with the same force as Sub Zero jumps the opposite direction. (When Sub makes a ice-clone while jumping forward, he is himself push backwards in the game).

Well this is turning interesting - discussing real physics on fantasy concepts :-)

Does anyone know if the mandatory update includes the old updates as well?
I'm a bit confused about this too.
On PS3 there differently are a forced update and after installing this I have unmasked Sub Zero - But still there are online matches I can't pick Skarlet.
It seem ill-adviced if this forced update only forces compatibility with Freddy on everybody's system.

I thought about the instant death thing too, which is actually which is why I wrote realistic in quotation-marks. Not much in MK can be considered realistic, but I can see how it is not apparent what I meant when I talked about realistic physics.

Also... It's more a crazy idea than a change I would like to see to the gameplay.
I personally think it WOULD break the game.

However it could be cool as a mode I suppose - I just can't really imagine which other characters this "realistic-physic"-mode would make game-play significantly different for.

Here is the random thought of the day:

What if somewhat realistic physics applied to Sub Zero's freeze abilities?

- a mid-jump ice-clone would continue the trajectory of the jump.
- an opponent fronzen in air would fall to the ground
- an ice-clone with it's gravity-center off would keel over.

Fun times would be had by all... well, except for the guy not playing sub-zero of cause.

That's all...

You can go back to talking about Freddy now :-)

@EvilDingo: His JIP f4, 2, 1, X-ray does 51% damage. That my friend, is broken.
So it's with an X-ray? Then it requires full meter...

You can't really judge the character from what is possible in training.
This is exactly why people also deemed Rain, Kenshi and Skarlet broken within 24 hours also. They apparently aren't.
I hardly ever meet those characters online.

It's is possible that he is overpowered but you can't know at this point.

If in 2 weeks I'm coming up against an army of Freddy's and consistently getting my ass handed to me - then you're probably right and I'll look like a fool.
Well, not really - because I'm honestly only suggesting to wait it out :-)

Haven't even started my system today, so haven't even seen him online or downloaded him yet, but... seriously?!

Can you think of a DLC character that haven't spawned a topic claiming them to be top-tier.
Really... The game isn't *just* about combos.

You have to land that combo-starter first - and every other character ALSO in the game have potential at doing 40%+ combo.

I haven't bought it but noticed was super-cheap in a store I was in lately, and remember thinking "Well, that was quickly that game dropped in price".
I went with Enslaved instead which cost the same.

I liked the music, but I really dislike grunting most of the time.  But aside from music quality, its not at all bad, keep it up.
This is also generally how I see it
I'll probably never really understand the vocal part of death metal. The most growly-ish vocals I actually genuinely like is something like Lamb of  God.

Considering every upcoming Metal band I hear in concert learn towards this way of singing, I've come to consider a necessary evil if I want to support metal-concerts in my city.
... I'm probably just getting old.
