My Console/Platform History

From the 90's to the day I post this. Listed in the chronological order of which I got them.

List items

  • I mainly used my GameBoy to play one game: Pokemon. I've literally put hundreds of hours into the franchise for about 12 years now, and I'll be putting in more hours as new version come out. between this and the GameBoy color, I've played just about every version of Pokemon there was, and to me those were hours well spent as I built my armies of pocket-sized monsters to fight the Elite Four over and over and over again.

  • I had this baby since 1996. My first games were Diddy Kong Racing and Super Mario 64. PlayStation was non-existent as I've spent many weekends playing Star Fox 64 and Pokemon Stadium. It was fun, well, while the A/V cables worked and before I got my PS2.

  • I had the fat system back in 2002. My first games were Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex and... some football game by 989 that I didn't like very much. I've played some of the best franchises that this platform had to offer, such as the Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter series, Metal Gear Solid, Devil may Cry, and Kingdom Hearts. There are just so many titles that still hold up compared to those on the PS3 and 360. As of date, the PS2 is my most beloved system.

  • I had a GameBoy, so when the GBA was announced, I had to upgrade to a GBA. It was a pretty big upgrade compared to the GameBoy Color to me. Yes I had to own a few versions of Pokemon, but I also really enjoyed The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past. That game was pretty awesome, but confused me a lot too. I actually printed out a huge walkthrough for this game, since it was the only way I was going to finish it and find those more out-of-the-way items. I've played my fair share of Yu-Gi-Oh games on it as well since I was into the anime at the time.

  • I tried to get into the GameCube. Super Mario Sunshine just wasn't as good as it's predecessor, I was oblivious to Matriod, and Star Fox Adventures annoyed me more the Custom Robo. Well, I at least enjoyed Star Fox Assault despite it not being as great as Star Fox 64, Wind Waker was enjoyable enough for me to play it until the end, Super Smash Bros. Melee was fun, but the game I most wanted for the system is F-zero GX after playing one of the games on the GBA. There are a few games on the platform that I've wanted and still want for the system, but at the time I was far more interested in the PS2.

  • This has been an interesting platform; not because of the games, but because of it's multi-functionality. I've mainly used my PSP for music while my collection of games slowly grew. Games like Daxter and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII were fun titles, but no PSP game has gripped me like Dissidia: Final Fantasy, which I've spent many sleepless nights playing. Now i have two models of the handheld: the 1000 and the Go. Since I got my Go, I've downloaded at least $100 worth of games over PSN. All 'n' all, it was a slow start as a gaming platform for the PSP, but it has it's noteworthy games that I play to quickly kill time. Also, I am psyched to play the Us release of Kingdom hearts: Birth By Sleep.

  • I honestly forget that I have this system because I barely play with it. I didn't really buy into the motion controls thing, though I was very surprised by Super Mario Galaxy and how fluid the controls were. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was a fun game too, and I'll eventually play more of the Metroid Prime Trilogy when the mood strikes me. And also, I'm looking to get into the No more Heroes franchise, since the games seem pretty fun.

  • Though I originally wanted a PS3, the 360 has been an entertaining platform for me. My first one did die on me in less than a year and took a while to be replaced, but other than that I've been pleased with playing games like Halo 3, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Devil May Cry 4, Borderlands, and Bayonetta. My collection of 360 games is almost bigger than my collection of PS2 games.

  • I mainly have a DS Lite to play Pokemon. like I said, I've been playing if for years, and to I just had to get a DS to play the never versions. Pokemon aside, I like the DS though I have no interest in puzzle games. my collection of games for the handheld is pretty small, which only consists of Pokemon versions Diamond and HeartGold, Castlevania Order of Ecclesia, and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, and Mario kart DS. I plan to get Mega Man Zero Collection when that comes out.
