Minecraft lets you do many amazing things like creating a home for your Dungeons & Dragons game or even modifying it to a blocky version of Elden Ring. While right now players can only ride on ground-based creatures, one Redditor decided to make an Minecraft flying mod to take to the skies as the winged phantom.
Reddit user Ameito Analyzed the building game and concluded that players should be able to mount winged creatures. There are a variety of flying Minecraft mobs and Ameito chose the phantom for this test. The phantom, a dead mob, spawns only if players haven't sleep or died in the game for more than three days. It is so unique that players might never have seen one.
Ameito's mod lets players ride mysterious creatures by using an ender eye to tame them. The modder explains that if you throw an endereye to the Phantom it will kill it and summon an invisible Llamas as well as an entirely new Phantom with certain tags. The phantom is constantly transported to the llama's position, so when you ride the llama, it appears as if you are riding the Phantom."
This may seem like magic to some, but the final result is being capable of flying into the sky with a spooky, dark creature of the night. The phantom is undead and typically burns during the day. However, Ameito has disabled that feature to avoid any mid-flight problems. It's a great mod, but it's one that opens up a lot of potential options Sky races, perhaps?
