Nintendo has some smart people but they clearly made mistakes here.

Make some good software available, and I will buy your products. I genuinely look forward for when that happens with the 3DS, and I find that price drop tempting, but for now I will continue to wait.

So, basically his position is about as far to the right as is humanly possible without turning into a complete lizard. What a cunt.

It is a missed opportunity that this line of unrestrained hyperbole wasn't made the thread's title. I realize that my scales haven't absorbed enough sun lately but I do not see what was wrong with Pachter's statement, or how this indicates that he is a member of the political right.

There is a difference between having a drink (or a few) and drinking. I do the former, not the latter, and none of it particularly often. But a little bit can be just enough to help get a good conversation going with people. And socializing is fun, even for those of us who tend to be shy.

I understand the appeal of drunkenness because I have a working brain, but it is not for me. I have a fairly reasonable tolerance which helps.

I give the United States of America a 5 because a score of 6+ isn't an option.

The apathy of so many internet nerds is really one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen. Do we really care so little about the place we live that we are hostile to the people who call themselves patriots?

The average American would describe himself and herself as a patriot. The average American is also a well adjusted adult and a political moderate. If you are not so well adjusted and have open disdain for where you live and/or the United States of America as a whole, consider for a moment that the problem may lie with you.

I have already done my 4th celebrating over the weekend and must now unfortunately work on this great holiday. But I go to work knowing that I'll get to hear the stories, once more, of the myriad ways people can turn excessive eating and drinking into a celebration for the nation in which they live. It's better than it sounds.

Trying saying that to the natives that were here before you. I'm pretty sure they'd disagree with you on that one.
Who is "you"? YukoAsho was probably born here, making him a native. Is it because you've assumed he's white, with a possibility of anglo-saxon Protestant thrown in? Excluding him from the distinction of native because of his ethnicity is racist.

Fun fact: America is the only country in the world that gives a shit about its flag.

Fun fact: You are completely incorrect. I don't suppose Canadians would easily accept having their maple leaf replaced with a pine needle or a marijuana leaf. But you're welcome to think that they would.

I always appreciate Fire Emblem talk, and pretty much agree completely with everything you said about Radiant Dawn. I'd argue that it's even less friendly than Thracia. In that game your characters were sufficiently powerful but it was what they did with the map layout and the specific challenges that provided the difficulty. Radiant Dawn just had giant maps with super high stat enemies. I spent the same amount of time with each game, but had considerably more fun with Thracia because it at least seemed more fair. I felt like I had the right tools at my disposal and it was my fault for using them wrong.

How much of it is grinding Job Points so Ramza can survive his fight with Wiegraf for more than five seconds?
There is (usually) no opportunity for grinding in Fire Emblem. For all its sophistication, I'd argue that Final Fantasy Tactics (and Tactics Ogre, for that matter) is worse off for lacking the inherent elegance found in nearly every Fire Emblem game. Radiant Dawn is an exception in a lot of ways for being so darn clumsy.

And no, there's never a Wiegraf moment in Fire Emblem. Thank God.

I recommend that everyone read article just to see what the findings really are. That is, there wasn't much of value found at all. One example:

"It raises the likelihood that parade watchers will vote for a Republican Candidate by 4 percent."

Stuff like that. In any case, I'm an American conservative who happily acknowledges all of the Democrats and liberals who love this country.
