I've owned and played zero Bioware games, one Bethesda game and two Square games. Am I really qualified to make a judgement here?
Well, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy Tactics were better experiences than the Xbox version of Morrowind (those load times are broken and everyone knows it), so I'm voting Square. But I'm not buying any of this "jrpg vs wrpg" nonsense, when the best games from either side of the ocean transcend the stereotypes that we're judging the genres by. Chrono Trigger does not have walls of badly translated text. Morrowind actually makes your myriad of choices feel reasonably worthwhile. I could go on forever, but that seems unnecessary.
Depending on the quality of the software, I would either suck it up (though I'd buy far fewer titles), or I would stick to handhelds. I do not consider the latter too bad a fate, honestly. Handheld gaming is in a golden age right now.
Not often at all. There's a time and a place, and some people can use certain words to great effect, but I usually have a different way to express myself.
I played WoW almost exclusively for almost a year and a half. I'm done now, but I do not regret the experience at all, and I'd do it all over again if not for time/money constraints.
I like ridiculous and impossibly stupid game stories, like that in Contra Rebirth, or pretty much any Sonic game ever made.
Of course, there are times when simple (Zelda: Ocarina of Time) and reasonably complex (Final Fantasy Tactics) stories/plots are presented very well, and those are always welcome. But my personal preference is mindless absurdity.
"Am I the only one sick of fanboys blindly rushing to this games defense? They tell me to shut up because "this is a video game, not reality". I DON'T GIVE A GODDAMN FUCK IF EVERYTHING IS ULTRA REALISTIC OR FULL OF FLYING TEDDIE BEARS! I just want a fun and balanced game, that rewards general strategy and player skill. Using the reality defense argument is just trying to change the subject instead of talking about how we can fix this utterly broken game.
I don't care if the guns recoil is ultra realistic, and I don't care if players can survive ultra unrealistic explosions and bullet wounds. We spend so much time arguing about the stupid little differences, that we neglect that big stupid similarities. Let's band together and push for a fair playing field that rewards actual playing of the game. *coughkillstreakscough* Don't mind me, I'm just venting... "
No, you're wrong. The game has to be neither balanced nor ultra realistic. Instead, it should be an enjoyable experience for people who are easy going and want to have a good time. That's why they call them video games.
The game itself should be the reward for playing it. If, for whatever reason, you do not find that this is the case with Modern Warfare 2, then you should probably move on to something else.
People may choose to 'rush' to the game's defense because fun hating individuals such as yourself see it necessary to attack software that they have purchased and enjoy. If you cannot enjoy it, and are venting because you are annoyed that people have the gall to enjoy a game, perhaps you are the one with the problem.
Guys, we need to cut emandudeguyperson some slack. It's not his fault that the only Nintendo related thing he recognizes are the anime pokemon ladies he wants to have sex with.
If you're openminded enough to consider relations with the barely pubescent girls from a children's show that you undoubtedly grew up with, you can perhaps consider the problem with completely writing off an entire video game platform that you have never seriously given the time of day to. Expand your horizons, and all that.
