Today's random thought...

The big complaint about the Wii is the cries of  "oh, the games aren't hardcore enough!" Well, with Tenchu IV on store shelves now, House of the Dead Overkill next week, and MadWorld in a month or two, is this null and void for now? Are those games really "the hardcore we've been waiting for"? Tenchu has been getting good reviews- IGN gave it an 8/10, 1up gave it a B-. HOTD Overkill got a glowing review from Eurogamer.

Is the Wii starting 2009 on the right foot? Or is there something else that you're waiting for?

I'm waiting for the specs of the next-gen Nintendo console.

I give Nintendo credit, the lineup so far is pretty good. I'm really excited for Madworld and The Conduit.  The only problem is that I hope they sell well.  Developers are starting to take some chances with more "hardcore" and mature rated games.  This is good, however, as we all must admit a large potion of the Wii's sold are to "casual" gamers who would not particularly buy these games.  My fear is that these games will come out, they will not sell as expected and developers will give up trying to create "hardcore", mature rated games.  I'm probably just paranoid, but those are my thoughts.
