I'd totally be up for a good basketball game, and everything about this seems good to me... except the constant nickel-and-diming, especially tying player stats to buyable currency.
On the game itself, I think the city meta-layer with its apparently massive number of menus and screens looks pretty awesome. Unfortunately, the way the tactical combat looks implemented seems terrible; at least to my tastes.
So I assume the stone walls get so easily destroyed because the developers don't have the licensing rights to model car damage and its no fun for cars to just freeze-frame stop when they collide with things?
Dan's opinion on Spider-Man is silly, but honestly, I don't see the problem with adding a wordiness slider. Its not changing the character for anyone who doesn't want it changed, and giving players more options is always good. Sliders are a good thing.
I like long written reviews, but its clear that's a format slowly dying everywhere and basically gone from GB, so it makes sense to me that they would try something different. I think this idea could work, but agree that it needs to a much shorter, more focused discussion. We already have QLs and the podcasts for more rambling discussion, general discussion, tangents etc., and I think there's value in having something else that is a targeted, clear distillation of what the reviewer thinks of the game.
If its going to be something like this, I think 15 minutes should be the maximum length and that the reviewer and whoever else on staff who will be on the video do a decent bit of prep so that they already know all the points they want to hit during the discussion.
