E3 2010 Most Anticipated Games

Bentjacket: E3 2010 Most Anticipated Games

List items

  • Hey, I'm a PC gamer. And while Crytek is branching out into other platforms in a somewhat sacrilegious attempt to cash in, their reputation is high enough in my books to make me confident in just about any product they'll try pushing here.

  • I am extremely dismayed that I like this game, mostly because of the "it seems doomed to fail" vibe I keep getting from it. It's polarizing, with people either loving it or hating it; it has a monthly or hourly fee depending on your preference; and there seems to be a lot of questions that have gone unanswered. Still, I'm a sucker for customization in any sort of game, so no matter how hard I try, I probably won't be able to let myself give it the Three Month Rule.

  • The only reason this isn't higher on my list is because it's probably on top of everyone else's. If you don't know why it's on this list at all, welcome to the internet.

  • Sure, they're playing with fire in some peoples' opinions for going with Invisible War's naming scheme rather than slapping on a number, but everything I've heard so far seems solid. Still hope that there isn't a resurgence in renaissance fashion in real life, though. All that transhumanism stuff is still fine by me though, so it's a fair trade.

  • Sure, I was always more of a Prototype fan (largely because I don't actually possess a PS3,) but I can smell quality just as well as anyone else. Games like these give the industry a good name, so with the greater good in mind, I'll stick this on here.

  • While Killzone: Liberation was the last game in the franchise that I've actually been able to play (again, this household is conspicuously PS3-free,) the Killzone series has always clicked with me very well. Its first iteration might have been a victim to the hype engine of the internet and beyond, but something about the art style and the general feel of the game always clicked with me. So what the hell. inFAMOUS 2 made it on here. Why can't KZ3?

  • Because there's a crapload of zombies and it'll be on the PC. I have had an itch for something like this outside of Killing Floor and L4D, so this seems like it'll be a fairly worthwhile investment for me. This game will immediately jump higher for me if it has The Gonk in it.

  • Because the first game I ever really got attached to was one of the vehicular combat variety. These types of games go awry in development time and time again, but I'm still tentatively excited about a continuation of this franchise.

  • It's Bioware. It's goddamn Bioware. It's a goddamn MMO from Bioware. Like many other games on this list, it would be higher, but I keep getting reminded that Mass Effect is my preferred sci-fi canon whenever I look at or hear about this title.

  • Alright, I still like Star Wars. There. You happy now? And I did like the concept of the last game. I wasn't a big fan of LucasArts' treatment of the PC platform, however, so this is going to stay further down on this list.

  • For the record, I still love Fallout. However, I strongly disapprove of the Gamebryo engine, so this is as high as it gets on this list. ... Great. Now I have that Jingle-Jangle song stuck in my head again.

  • More tentative excitement on this one. I actually don't have much to say about it, but stylized realism and free-running movement can't be all that bad, right?
