The more popular a game/franchise gets (or really anything), the more unpopular it gets with the people who didn't like it to begin with. It polarizes people, and causes those who quietly disliked something to become inspired into being outspoken about their contrary opinion, and the more they hear about it the more their dislike grows to just utter hatred. That's probably human nature, I don't know, I mean I've definitely been like that before...maybe not so much with games, but with like TV shows that are obviously sub-par to godawful that everyone seems to love. In the spirit of this post, I'm not going to name names.
The game that basically necessitated the ESRB in the first place, the first Mortal Kombat when I was in like second grade. After that they started doing ratings, but they weren't E through M, there K-A ("kids and adults") which was basically an "E" rating...yet I think "M" has always been "M" though, not really sure.
This is kind of pointless, why do you care about Vinny cheating and Jeff being slightly wrong about something? Was it justified? What does that even mean? Justified by who? Who's policing what is or isn't "fair" to say about a game, or how one "should" play it?
