Games I'm Really Hyped Up to Play

There are a bunch of games I'm really looking forward to right now, and this is a list of them. Note that this list was created August 05, 2008. Also note that the list is in no particular order.

List items

  • Animal Crossing is one of my favorite games of all time, and Animal Crossing: Wild World is my favorite DS game (even above games like Advance Wars: Duel Strike and Phantom Hourlgass), so I'm naturally eagerly anticipating this new Wii release. It's just hard to not love Animal Crossing.

  • I can't wait for LittleBigPlanet, and I don't even own a PS3. In fact, LittleBigPlanet is one of the key reasons I'm even considering purchasing a PS3 in the first place. Either way, LittleBigPlanet looks to be one of the coolest and most customizable game I've ever seen.

  • I loved Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames looks like the perfect sequel. From new vehicles, to co-op multiplayer, to even MORE destruction, Mercenaries 2 looks to be one of the best games of 2008. I'm a little skeptical about the character changes, but overall, it looks fantastic. BOOM!

  • The only Prince of Persia game I've ever played is the remake of the original on the Xbox Live Arcade. I enjoyed that game quite a bit, and I've always been meaning to check out Sands of Time. But after seeing this new PoP game in motion, I'm thinking I'll just wait for it instead! The combat looks amazingly dynamic, and the visuals are just beautiful. I'm keeping my eye on it, that's for sure.

  • I'll be the first to admit it: A Sonic RPG seems like a really weird idea. Sonic the Hedgehog seems better fit for action games that move at a really fast pace, and not a turn-based RPG. However, I am a major Sonic fan and a big Bioware fan, so I have no complaints about this incredible-looking game! It looks like Bioware is doing it right (as they usually do), and just the hints about classic Sonic stages and stories being featured is enough to make me really hyped!

  • Sonic Unleashed looks like the perfect blend of gameplay for a Sonic game. It goes really, really fast, but slows down enough for some platforming. It has town stages (if you're into that kind of thing), but from what I hear so far, you don't have to spend a lot of time in them. I will admit that the werehog sections look a little on the clumsy side, but that's not keeping me down. Go Sonic!

  • When I first heard about this game, I sort of just shot it down without thinking about it. Sonic with a sword? Sigh... that must mean slow-paced combat and more off-topic gameplay. However, after reading an article about it in Nintendo Power, it actually looks pretty good. The developers seem to be working very hard to make sure it doesn't make the mistakes some Sonic games have made in the past, and my hopes are rising. Plus, it's a Sonic game, after all, so I'm really excited!

  • I already own the Spore Creature Creator, and I defnitely plan to own Spore itself when it's released! The game looks HUGE, and brimming with personality, too. If you haven't already, go look Spore up, and try out the Creature Creator. If you have any imagination at all, you'll have a blast.

  • This is definitely one of the biggest Star Wars games to ever be announced, if not THE biggest. In my mind, it's had its ups and downs throughout time. Sometimes it looks like the best game to ever see the light of day, and sometimes I get very skeptical about the whole thing. The physics and Force powers look very awesome, but I just hope they don't get too ambitious and mess things up. Being a huge Star Wars fan, I certainly hope it works out!
