I've put about 15 hours into the steam version so far and I'm happy with my purchase. The vast majority of my time went into finishing the limited core "campaign" mode and I'm now exploring the freeroam mode. Although the learning curve was a bit daunting at first, I've been making steady progress in finding more efficient solutions to the problems that crop up while creating your factory masterpiece. I've still got a LOT of learning to do when it comes to expanding efficiently, but I've been able to get the job done.

I'm glad the game lets you tear down and re-place your parts as you go without any real penalty. For some reason I've been hesitant to rip up old designs, but it's made expansion much easier in the long run.

The biggest downside is the combat for sure -- it ranges from mild annoyance to huge pain in the ass due to the controls and big bullet-sponge bugs. From the dev's notes, though, it seems like combat rebalancing will likely occur in the next version, so it's good to see some self-awareness from the developers.

That's amazing. I heard about it last night during Dan's stream, but I didn't know these details.

Can't wait to watch it!

This was such tremendous fun to watch live. The energy in the room was excellent, and almost all of the participants had the right attitude and schtick for this kind of silly and absurd show (although a few of the Gang Beast fighters could've used some coffee). Some of the scripted back-and-forth felt a little stilted in places, but frankly it didn't matter with everything else that was going on. When they're able to just fire out quick on the fly cuts on each other, themselves, the teams, the crowd, whatever, it worked great. I lost my shit when Doc Tracksuit started hitting himself in the face with the guitar just so it would break properly.

Wish I could've seen Dan go through the table, though.

You captured the style incredibly well. Picking a favorite is surprisingly difficult--really great work!

Hotwire has been a lot of fun so far, and the vehicle handling is strong overall (although I still can't fly a chopper with a controller to save my life). The only times driving gets janky are when two vehicles are stuck on each other or when it's slightly too laggy to allow for fluid high-speed movement. At this point, though, it's a little too easy to get stuck on the environment--it's frustrating to win a big firefight for control over a car only to find that it's stuck until it blows up because it's on an object six inches off the ground.

Yup, did it. I used to work a job where I had to try and convince people to take feedback surveys, and that was always a pain in the ass. Happy to do it for a site that I visit every day.
