Pretty sure head's can't talk after being cut off since they're no longer attached to lungs pushing air through the vocal cords.

Looking at the image with a bunch of bombys (bombies?) I found the angle leading to only a bit of it's tongue being visible for the one on the top right interesting. Then I looked some more and the program you're using does some odd stuff with the reflections, the ones along the bottom have some extra dots inside the circular light source reflection, the ones on the right don't seem to have the extra dots, and the one in the top middle seems to have a reflection that's not completely circular and almost like it's a different angle above and below the mouth or two different circular and overlapping light source reflections. I'm probably looking at it too much, but that seems odd.

After the first render I just duplicated and moved shit around for that falling bomby one. I just whipped it together real quick so didn't actually go about moving things around in 3D space correctly and instead cheated a lot with just resizing stuff to get things where I wanted them. That should account for some of the weird reflections. I also didn't modify the lighting in the scene which is probably why there's a lot of weird lighting oddities, especially in relation to the highlights since I actually have two spotlights floating around somewhere that only work on the left eye and the right eye to get the initial specular highlight.

What software are you using?

The latest version of Maya with the Arnold renderer.

Yeah, I'm sitting here trying to rationalize how the tongue is consistently visible comparing top-right and middle-bottom.

I think the tongue actually juuuuust sticks out of the mouth making it visible from almost every angle. Also, the material I used on it is very bright and reflective so it always stands out.

Looks good. I could see the image with a bunch of Bombys being a decent wallpaper.

Maybe I'll whip some up for basic desktop sizes next time I have a bit of free time =]

Looks great!

thanks!

Love it

As a way to practice some simple 3D modeling, I figured why not convert the new Bomby logo into a 3D model. Here it is in all it's super shiny glory!

And since I had the model, why not throw a bunch of em into a single scene =]

And then I thought turning it into a little toy amiibo type thing might be cool and so here's Bomby as an amiibo. Maybe I'll look into 3D printing one for my desk =P

@fobwashed: I'm a bit confused by how Round 2 will be calculated. By "1 percent per person that chose them", does that mean if 100 people choose them, their top game is -100% (or worth 0)?

Yup. If 101 people choose a specific person it would start giving negative points as well but I highly doubt this will happen because there's only 300 people in the league and only 22 people participated in Round 1. This is primarily a way to let people have a bit more of an active role in trying to better their chances by making some additional educated guesses on which direction they think GB staff will be leaning towards. Also, it gives a slight advantage to people who are paying attention to both GB and the league. Tho I guess it's possible it could backfire if things don't go how you think it's gonna go =]
